Tell us a little about yourself!
I’m a singer-songwriter based in Montreal. I first fell in love with performance as a dancer, and eventually found my calling as an artist by fusing my passions for music and writing together.
What are your main musical influences?
It’s really a mixed bag… I grew up listening to a variety of talented female artists such as Amy Winehouse, Alicia Keys, Regina Spektor, Norah Jones, Corinne Bailey Rae. Now I’m really inspired by genre-bending artists like Daniel Caesar, Bruno Major, and Raveena.
Who is on the line-up of your dream festival?
Ooo where to start? Mac Ayres, Hope Tala, Raveena, Eloise, Lizzo, Jorja Smith, The Staves, Lianne La Havas, Snoh Aalegra, H.E.R., Half Moon Run, Finneas, Sabrina Claudio, Lauryn Hill, John Mayer, Ariana Grande… I’m definitely missing some but this could go on for a while!
What are 3 songs on your playlist that you are loving lately?
‘Hungover’ by Eloise, ‘Raw’ by LOONY, and ‘Slow Down (acoustic)’ by Skip Marley & H.E.R.
What’s one piece of advice you’ve been given that you’d like to pass onto others?
You can’t wait to feel “ready” to start. You just have to start.
If you could make a song with any other artist (dead or alive) who would you pick and why?
It’s so hard to choose, but I would have to say Michael Bublé… his voice = romance.
Dinner with one person dead or alive? Who and why?
Currently? Bo Burnham. There’s just no way that conversation would be dull.
