Future Islands Stopped by Providence And We Got to See Them Live!

Last week we got to see Future Islands ‘Hit the Coast’ on their latest tour. With an almost sold-out show, we got to jam alongside one of the kindest crowds of fans. We got to ‘Hit the Coast’ and catch some of their newer jams like ‘Peach.’

OH, ROSE!

Getting off on the right foot, the amazing Oh Rose opened up the night. While most had been there to see Future Island, we noticed how eager the crowd had been to see them. Coming all the way from Olympia, WA, this four piece had set the night with high expectations. Their set featured songs like ‘Easy’ and ‘25, Alive.’ Sadly, this set was their last with Future Islands on tour, but they were over the moon to end on a high note. Also, we were digging Olivia’s (their lead vocalist) dress which spoke for itself!

FUTURE ISLANDS

As we were absolutely stunned by the light work, the band’s set design has to be noted, with its geometric aesthetic centering on the drummer, Erick. It gave a leading line to the rest of the group which had their own pockets to jam out in. Sam, Lead vocalist, had been on fire the whole night bringing his dance moves and amazing vocals. If you are wondering how the band would sound live, they was even better in person! Each band member complimented each other perfectly. 

With a longer set, Future Islands gave the crowd exactly what they came for and even more. If you like music with an 80’s feel to it, (or with a more synth-pop feel) we highly suggest this band to you. We also suggest going to a stop on their newest US and International tour. There is no bad song on Future Islands’ discography. Ending the night, they thanked the crowd with smiles. You could see just how everyone in the venue had been grateful to have a night with this band.
