Finding Inspiration In Isolation
‘Headspace’ is all about having that special person in your head all day and how thinking of them will make you feel that you can get through anything. The track contrasts its origins, as Grace wrote it while trapped in her home during an enormous snowstorm. It’s incredible to see how inspiration comes in such waves and how many personal emotions can get captured from such situations. Daydreaming can truly help a songwriter to create an emotional melody.
Including Visual Art Into ‘Headspace’
Grace studied art in college, and she has found a perfect way to include it in the visualizer for ‘Headspace’ while preserving the caring concept of the single. Throughout the video, we can see her drawing with black ink across a huge, plain mural. Not only does this adds to the emotional strings and the loving lyrics, but it also gives us a peek at Grace’s outstanding imagination. A perfect combination of visuals and music!
Grace will release her debut EP, With You In Mind, on September 23rd. We will be listening to ‘Headspace’ on repeat until then!
I grew up obsessed with music and art so to have had to chance to create these songs and the world around them as been a dream. It’s a totally different level of nerves and care when all these songs have come from such a personal place and I can’t wait to get them out there.
