In a previous article, we started filling your head (and probably playlists 👀) with some solo artists from Thailand. But we are far from being done with putting T-Pop on your radar! This time we will give you a little taste of the country’s groups for all you group stans out there.
For The Girl Group Stans
SIZZY is a girl group formed under GMMTV Records. For their recent release, Jan, Jane, Ciize, and Aye were joined by the popular BL duo EarthMix. ‘รับผิดชอบใจฉันด้วย (Love Response)’ is a bright pop song (with some slight hip-hop elements) delivering all the cuteness and that pink cloud of feelings of a young and fresh secret love. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself mumbling the catchy hook because we do walk around randomly whispering “My love is real, baby“ every now and then 💁♀️
Another new T-Pop favorite of ours is PiXXiE. Mabelz, Pimma, and Ingkho debuted last year as a three-member girl group under LIT Entertainment. Their latest release, ‘HOT Dangerous,’ is actually a promotional single for a new smartphone. But the track and the music video are both much more than “just” an ad. The phone itself might be called “hot,” but PiXXiE is also “dangerous,” especially if you like strong girl concepts. We love how the girl power is already present in their name’s XX—standing for the female chromosomes. ♀ And yes, that attitude definitely comes back in their songs. ‘NOT BAD,’ another recent release from the girls, is also a great and catchy example of that.
For The Boy Group Stans
If your playlist is filled with K-Pop boy groups, you definitely have to check out PERSES. They got everything you need coming from that listening background! The vocals, raps, dance, visuals, catchy song, the flashy MV… The five-member T-Pop group dropped their first-ever song ‘MY TIME’ on September 28, 2022. So since Nay (rapper), Palm (dancer), Jung (rapper), Pluggy (vocalist), and Krittin (vocalist) just popped up on our radar two weeks ago, we can’t say much yet. Except that they’ve got our attention with that debut single, so we’ll definitely keep our eyes on them. And they are about to air a documentary on their YouTube channel about their journey to debut, so we will soon get to know them better! We couldn’t be more excited to see what else they have up their sleeves because this certainly is their time — not just to reference their title.
Once again, this is only a mere slice of our T-Pop playlist. We have a lot more Thai artists we want to introduce to you! But first, we’d love to hear your thoughts! Who got your attention on the list above, and who else would you love to see us include next time? Let us know by tweeting us at @thehoneypop or joining the conversation on Facebook and Instagram.
