It’s only been almost a year since IVE came onto the scene, and they are already on their way to becoming K-POP legends. If you are new here, IVE is a six-member girl group under Starship Entertainment, and these six girls have already claimed their title of monster rookies. Gaeul, Yunjin, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo have all captured our hearts within this short year. We can name endless reasons why you should stan IVE, but today we are narrowing it down to five.
1. The Vocals
Put a mic in front of IVE, and they’ll show you what to do with it. From Wonyoung’s wispy dreamlike vocals to Liz’s sweet honey-coated voice, the girls are not one to shy away from showcasing their talents in the vocal department. When put together, their voices become a whimsical choir. IVE members have been praised for their live vocals sounding identical to the studio version. Recently, members, Liz and Rei have been the topic of conversation due to their live vocals sounding identical to the studio version of ‘After LIKE’ while performing a collaboration with the artist LANY. These girls eat the CDs before every performance.
2. Their Music
IVE’s music has a track record of being fun, powerful anthems. Their sound is clean and consistent with their group concept. IVE currently has three single albums containing one B-side to accompany the title track. Their debut song ‘Eleven’ was an instant hit as it blew up on TikTok immediately after release. IVE wanders away from the sound we hear in KPOP today and make their own sound. With their recent comeback, ‘After LIKE,’ they paid homage to disco with a sample from Gloria Gaynor’s ‘I Will Survive.’ Retro music is the craze in KPOP right now, they took a distinct route and delivered a beautiful melodic dance track.
3. Their Addicting Choreography
IVE’s fun and addicting choreography gained the attention of TikTok users all over the app; even those who had no clue about KPOP were joining in on duplicating the icon intro to ‘Eleven.’ The group’s discography is popular at KPOP random dance plays. Their captivating choreography is so hard to look away from that you can’t help but learn it.
4. The Visuals
We know it’s about the music, but look at these girls! Not only are they talented, but they’re also beautiful. IVE has been praised for their good looks as they have been deemed an “all-visual girl group” by reports of various news outlets in Korea. The members have already been on the covers of magazines like Cosmopolitan, Dazed, Vogue, and Harper’s Bazaar. Talented singers, dancers, and now models! Do you want to stan yet?
5. Their Fashion
The sextet is on the road to becoming fashion icons. Members like Wonyoung have been invited to Paris Fashion Week, while members Leeseo and Rei shined at Seoul Fashion Week. IVE shines on stage with their fun, clean, color-coordinated outfits. IVE has been dressed head to toe in sequins, leather, denim, and velvet. Accessories are no problem for IVE; the way the girls stay covered in beautiful shiny jewelry is just the cherry on top for us! We can only dream about having a closet full of their outfits.
