If there’s one thing about Zolita, she is going to give us incredible music and tell us a beautiful story. These are just two of the reasons she is such an amazing and influential artist (we could go on forever!) In her new music video for ‘Ruin My Life,’ we’re transported back to a small town following Zolita attending the bachelorette party of her childhood best friend and first love. Although there seems to be trouble in paradise, magic also seems to be brewing.
Then just as we’re sucked into the storyline, we’re left with the dreaded title card: to be continued! Adding to her amazing list of talents, Zolita also directed, wrote, produced, and edited the video. We’ve already watched it over and over again, captivated by both the heart and the music! We can’t wait to see what happens next.
‘Ruin My Life’ is definitely one of the most fun songs about tragic love we’ve ever heard. And if that’s not a category, then now it’s in on all on its own. Taking the idea of truly putting your all into the person you love, Zolita gives this toxic love a healthy glowing sound! We may be ready to give up everything for the love of our life, but we also can’t stop dancing. It’s the perfect combination!
As the follow-up to ’20 Questions’ (which features the break-up that got us here), we’re now amped for the next addition to this beautifully crafted cinematic universe. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long! Zolita’s newest EP, Falling Out/Falling In, is set to be released early next year but we have our fingers crossed for a new single to tide us over ’til then.
