What happens when you mix a headliner for the Country to Country (C2C) Festival and a former member of a worldwide sensation 5-member boyband? You get a delightful taste of Thomas Rhett and a strong hint of Irish. Who could that splash of Irish be? It’s none other than our beloved Niall Horan.

Without a doubt, any time a former member of One Direction, especially one that hasn’t been on stage in 2 years, is a guest, it’s going to be a huge surprise! Who doesn’t love the gift of Niall Horan?

What Is Country to Country Festival?

The Country to Country (C2C) Festival has just celebrated 10 years since its inaugural event. Over the past 10 years, C2C established itself as an annual destination to see the world’s best country artists, future stars, and emerging talents. Along with Thomas Rhett headlining, the festival also had performances by Lady A, Zac Brown Band, Midland, Lainey Wilson, Jordan Davis, and many more! This festival, however, got a little extra fun with Niall Horan’s appearance.

Thomas Rhett And Niall Horan Are Simply ‘Angels’

This performance with Thomas Rhett is perfect timing for Niall Horan for so many reasons. Niall released his lead single, ‘Heaven,’ from his upcoming album, The Show, last month. The Show is released on June 9th. There is time to kill until then, and Niall is keeping busy! Niall has ‘Heaven’ promotional events. Being a judge on The Voice. Visiting the White House on St. Patrick’s Day.

And most importantly, he is prepping for getting back on the stage before his first headline set for the Boston Calling Festival in May. There is no better way to return to the stage for the first time in 2-years than at the C2C Festival. Niall sang his 2017 multi-platinum hit ‘Slow Hands’ with the country superstar with a 10-year tenure, Thomas Rhett.

Choosing to add a duet of ‘Slow Hands’ at the C2C Festival was such an excellent choice by Thomas Rhett. ‘Slow Hands’ is a song whose structure and sound are more folk and country than pop. Making it a perfect fit to meet the vibe and expectations of the festival.

Not to mention that Thomas Rhett’s voice on ‘Slow Hands’ gives the song new life. The duo’s performance happened after Thomas introduced there was a special guest. Niall Horan entered the stage doing his best country accent, saying, “How ya doin’ Thomas Rhett” (it was super cute. Duh, it’s Niall Horan).

Together, Thomas Rhett and Niall Horan each took turns singing the song’s verses, blessing the crowd with their magical voices. It’s guaranteed that the performance will completely melt you into a puddle.

Thomas Rhett Is That Country Superstar

As fun as it is to talk about Niall, we have to give all of our attention to the mega country star, Thomas Rhett. Thomas Rhett signed his record deal with Big Machine Label Group’s, The Valory Music Co., 10 years ago. Over the past 10 years, Thomas has stolen hearts and has been named the most reliable maker of No. 1 singles in country music.

In addition to Thomas’ reliability of songwriting, he has 20 multi-platinum and gold-certified No. 1 hits. He has over 12 billion streams and the longest-running active streak of No. 1 hits. There is a reason why Thomas is crowned the Prince of country music.

All Hail The Prince of Country Music

We can’t believe that someone else beat THP in giving Thomas that noble title! Truly, though we can all agree that this nickname is well deserved. Thomas has won 8 ACM Awards, including Entertainer of the Year. 2 CMA Awards. 5 Grammy nominations. Has won trophies from CMT Music Awards, Billboard Awards, and iHeartRadio Awards. Thomas Rhett has been recognized with 3 CMA Triple Play Awards.

Continuing to brag about Thomas, the superstar has a hot and critically-acclaimed sixth studio album, Where We Started, available now. The lead single from this album ‘Where We Started’ features Katy Perry and it’s a 5 out of a 5-star song.

As of January 2023, Thomas released a new single, ‘Angels (Don’t Always Have Wings).’ This extremely sweet song crafted around a waltz time signature reflects his gratitude towards his wife and the guilt that comes from being a musician.

This new song is emotional, raw, and authentic. Any hopeless romantic will feel the story from the heart unfold through the music and lyrics. The listener will be lulled into a sentimental bittersweet love note. The song gives Thomas’ viewpoint towards himself and how much he adores his wife. As well as how much he worries about how the life of an artist creates stress and impacts the family.

The song softens at the end, as if the listener is being pulled into a warm embrace. It’s as if his wife is hugging him and reminding him by his wife that she loves him for his passions, the good and the bad.

Thomas Rhett Captivating The C2C Audience

Given all of these points from an impressive track record, it makes perfect sense that Thomas Rhett would be the headline act that closed the opening day of the C2C Festival. Thomas is kind-hearted, friendly, and has an approachable personality that shines through his songs about his life, marriage, and children. His relatable music and warming personality captivated UK country fans during his lively 90-minute set.

London is not the only place that watched Thomas captivate and entertain a crowd; Thomas also headlined Glasgow’s SSE Hydro and Dublin’s 3 Arena during the weekend as part of the C2C Festival. So forget about having a cuppa when the hot-tea Thomas Rhett quenches the thirst of UK country fans. Where can we sign up to experience our hot cup of Thomas Rhett?
