Melt, the seven-piece crew, had recently stopped by Providence, RI, on their latest tour. Their stage presence had left the crowd roaring as if they didn’t want the night to end. Singing elegantly and making the venue feel like a family gathering, Melt had crushed every expectation this past weekend.
Q-Tips Bandits
Opening up for Melt were the Q-Tip Bandits, a Boston native crew that has the same spark as Melt. Singing their hearts out, we were pleased with just how much the fans grasped onto their sound. The stage dynamics between the band had felt as if they’ve always known each other their whole life—creating a perfect balance of moments on stage.
We got to hear ‘Willow’ and ‘Chasing Cars’ alongside a crew of their current discography. If you’re looking for something bright and bubbly, check out the Q-Tip Bandits. They’re making their way up to great things in the future!
Let’s Not Be Shy!
We’re not slowing it down when we say Melt took ahold of the stage and owned it as their own. Despite some faulty double A batteries at the beginning, the whole show has panned out perfectly. Starting off the night, we heard the sweet instrumental solos of ‘Waves.’ As lead singer, Veronica Stewart-Frommings, greeted everyone in the crowd, making sure we were as excited, as Melt was to perform for us.
Melt has hit a few cities as headliners, including Providence. However, they split this tour bill with a few shows as openers for bands like Ripe and a few music festivals. This was the focus of the fans, who some had been following Melt around on this on-going tour. All super delighted to be there, the energy in the room felt almost like a family gathering–too sweet to miss and too fun not to dance. Keeping the crowd’s attention the whole night, we were able to see just how perfect of a night it had been, and how compelling Melt is.
Before the night ended, Frommings had hinted they’d been working on a new album. With bittersweet feelings of finishing off these last few east coast shows, Melt had all equally seemed ready to jam on stage with some new tunes. As they are currently gearing up for some pretty cool stops, they left Providence (and us) all with warm hearts.
