We know we at THP say this almost every month, but September really flew by! And it’s already time for the next audiobook roundup. September has given us magical stories and murder mysteries. Both of these are perfect for the beginning of fall, by the way.
In any case, we’re delighted to give you the latest edition of Sweet Listens, our monthly roundup of new audiobook releases. Here are our three September audiobook recommendations!

Time Of The Turtle King By Mary Pope Osborne

If you thought that name sounded familiar, you’d be correct! Mary Pope Osborne just released her latest Magic Tree House adventure with Time of the Turtle King. It’s her 65th book in the overall series and the 38th one in the main series. Mary Pope Osborne even blesses us by narrating the audiobook herself! (We love it whenever authors do this!) This audiobook is a super quick and enjoyable listen with so much nostalgia.

Ryan And Avery By David Levithan

There are few things we love more than LGBTQ+ audiobook recs! Pride Month may be over, but any time is a good time to share queer love stories! David Levithan’s latest novel, Ryan and Avery, follows the relationship of two boys and their first ten dates. And we love that he wrote the dates out of order instead of chronologically! For example, it was fun to listen and compare Ryan and Avery’s seventh date to their second while only knowing everything within the context of those dates.
