Trust us when we say Tafari Anthony pulled at our heartstrings with the new music video for ‘Evermore.’
We have loved the song since Tafari dropped his debut album, When I Met Your Girlfriend. Now, we have even more reason to be all over this musical piece. If you haven’t checked out the video yet, get ready for the emotional rush.
The clip for ‘Evermore’ is the final part of his three-part video series. They focus on capturing the different moments in a relationship. Starting with ‘Doesn’t Have To Be So Hard‘ and moving to ‘Heart Race,’ the first two clips show a much brighter side of the love, watching it grow into something beautiful that brings you joy. ‘Evermore’ breaks away from the happiness and focuses on a much darker moment: a very painful and complex one.
This is the moment on the album where the major shift happens; From falling in love, to being in love, and then experiencing heartbreak. At it’s core, “Evermore” is about wanting to support someone unconditionally during difficult times. // Letting them know no matter how finite the time might be, you’ll be there for them. The video depicts the flip side of that when they don’t allow you to be there for them but you keep trying. Visually this video is much darker than the previous videos and should feel a little bit uneasy. You’re not too sure what has happened, but you can feel the gravity of it.

The music video uses a simple but impactful setting to relay the feelings that the lyrics bring to life. From seeing Tafari at that table, all alone, to his outburst caused by the overwhelming emotions, it clearly shows the pain the artist focuses on through this heartbreaking track.
Tafari knows how to reach his listeners. and tell stories through his music. ‘Evermore,’ despite being sad, is a beautifully written and delivered track that is impossible not to get emotional over.
