Check it out below, then keep reading for a special Q&A with Ashley about the video, her upcoming tour, and so much more.
Hi Ashley, congrats on your new music video for ‘Siren!’ This might be our favorite video of yours already – what was it like coming up with the concept?
Thank you! I’ve always been fascinated by mythical creatures like mermaids and sirens, and I love the powerful feminine energy that is associated with them. My song ‘Siren’ is exactly about that- about using feminine energy to get everything you want. I worked closely with my amazing music video director, Kate Zamudio, to showcase this concept in its most mystical, magical form.
What does the song ‘Siren’ mean to you?
I’ve always wanted to write a song about feminine power, and being that girl that exudes beauty, confidence and strength. This song is an anthem for all my powerful babes who want to embrace their siren energy and use it to get what they want.
‘Siren’ has so many incredible lyrics, with one of our favorites being “she’ll pull your strings for the drama.” Is there a certain line you’re especially proud of, or one that feels especially powerful to you?
“She’ll pull your strings for the drama” is definitely a very fun, playful lyric, but I think my favorite is “she’s leading the pack now, so stay down.” I love that it’s so literal and direct about being a woman with power.
It must’ve been so fun getting to film the video and wearing those gorgeous siren looks! What was it like on set? Any favorite memories or a certain shot you really loved filming?
It was SOOO fun filming this one! I’ve always dreamed of being a mermaid when I was little. My parents even bought me one of those mermaid tails that I could swim in when I was young (but it was nowhere near as cool as the one I had in this video). I think my favorite part to film was the underwater shots. The studio had a GORGEOUS tank (with warm water too!) that I got to shoot in, with my long hair floating all around me and feeling like a true siren.
What advice would you give to any of your fans who want to channel their inner ‘Siren’ and work on their confidence?
The reason I love making manifestation music is because it can be used as a tool to help with these kinds of things! Listen to music that makes you feel confident, powerful, and beautiful (‘Siren’ was written for exactly that), and you’ll feel a shift in your energy. Listen to it as you get ready for your day to hype you up, or right before a date, etc. Know that YOU decide who you are, and you can be whoever you want to be.
Something unique about your music is that each of your songs has hidden affirmations meant to help the listener manifest their goals! Is there a certain affirmation you’ve been loving lately?
My music is filled with so many affirmations, each song having a focus on manifesting something different, whether it’s love, money, success, or beauty. However, my favorite affirmation of all time is my album title, I AM. I believe it’s the most powerful statement to exist. “I AM” whatever I want to be. “I AM successful,” “I AM beautiful,” “I AM the Universe”… the list goes on indefinitely.
You’ve said you manifested the community around your music on TikTok, and now you’re one of the most-viewed artists on the platform! What has it been like for you to see how much people love your music and hear about the results they’ve had?
It’s soooo inspiring to look back at my manifestation journal and see my manifestations about growth in my TikTok community become my reality. I am so extremely grateful for the love and support on the platform, and I’m hoping that my journey will be an inspiration for others too. I want to show people that whatever we set our minds to, we can get.
Do you have any tips for anyone new to manifestation?
Manifestation is all about aligning your energy with what you want. Basically, feeling and thinking the way you would AS IF that desire was already yours. There are tools that can help with aligning your energy… like manifestation music, journaling affirmations, and visualizing what you want. Just remember, if others could do it… so can you. Trust the timing, be patient, take action on opportunities presented, and know that what you want is yours.
Your I AM EP has powerful collabs with HotHighPriestess and Ellise, which have been on repeat for us. Is there a certain artist or creator you’re hoping to work on a song with in the future? What kind of song would you want to make with them?
I am so extremely grateful to have worked with HotHighPriestess and Ellise, as they are big inspirations for my music… I think I manifested working with them hehe. I have a few other dream collabs… the biggest one being Billie Eilish. She was the one who inspired me to get into dark pop music. Nessa Barrett is another huge inspiration… I’m manifesting to collab with her one day, too.
You’ll be going on tour this February and we already know it’ll be an amazing show! Which of your songs are you most excited to perform live?
I am SOOO excited to do my first headlining tour! When creating my music, I work with my producers to ensure it hits as hard as possible… with super heavy bass and other production that just makes you feel like you’re floating. The energy will be INSANE as we all collectively manifest and sing our hearts out together! I think I’m most excited to perform ‘What You Need’ live, as that is the song I would always listen to when manifesting for a headlining tour.
We can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve for us next! What can your fans look forward to in 2024?
I’ve got so many exciting things planned for 2024!! My first headlining tour, a deluxe version of my album, I AM, and more merch (manifestation-themed)… just to name a few.
