If there’s one thing Tom Odell will do, it’s making us ugly cry. Thankfully, we don’t mind a good cry sesh, and Tom is always there to hold our hand through his calming music and transcendent lyrics. If you’re a new Tom Odell fan or have been a fan for years like us, join us on a journey through his newest track, ‘The End.’
This song transcends us into another dimension, which we will gladly stay in. The lyrics are profound and so relatable it hurts. “If you’ve got time, I know a place / A rose garden in the North side of the park / They shut the gates about an hour after dark / We could walk there, we can laugh,” Tom sings. These lyrics themselves are quite beautiful, but the melodies make us feel something different and darker.
We also have to talk about Tom’s TikTok, in which he put ‘The End’ over snippets of Billie Eilish‘s ‘Male Fantasy’ music video. Yeah, that definitely made us cry even more. We’d love a future collab of the two songwriter powerhouses! *cough cough* *nudge nudge*
‘The End’ comes on the heel of Tom’s newest album, Black Friday, dropping January 26. We cannot wait to hear more from Tom and shed even more tears! Don’t worry, they’ll be happy tears this time.
