Ready to meet the new ‘Star’ of your playlist? Spoiler alert, it’s Khasaia (pronounced kar-see-yah), and we know you’ll love watching her shine as much as we do. Her latest single, ‘Star,’ brings back that glamorous, Y2K club-pop sound that will make you feel like one of the main characters of Gossip Girl. From the sleek beat to Khasaia’s infectious confidence, there’s so much to adore about the song! We think it’d be the perfect soundtrack to all your summer memories and late nights out with friends.
The song is my own take on a ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ type of song. This song is all about sonically rebirthing the lost sub-culture of 2000s feminine fabulousness. This song is for all the fabulous party girls in the club!

One thing about us at THP is that we’re totally drawn to singers who are multi-talented and put their whole heart and soul into what they do. Khasaia does just that with each of her releases, and she even choreographed the memorable ‘Star’ visualizer herself! The UK pop scene has officially found its new It Girl, so it’s time for music lovers everywhere to catch up.
If you’ve already added ‘Star’ to your summer playlist (if not, then you should go do that immediately), then it’s time to check out Khasaia’s debut Surround Sound EP, which boasts a similarly sparkling pop-R&B sound that will get you dancing! From the immersive ‘On The Floor,’ which starts with the sound of chatter on a night out, to the sirenlike ‘What I Do 4 U,’ it’s a whole sonic journey we’ll happily get lost in. Who’s gonna match our ‘Freak’ and listen to her whole discography on repeat with us?
What do you think of Khasaia’s shimmering new single, ‘Star?’ Does it take you straight back to the 2000s? Let us know in the comments below or hit us up on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!
