EVNNE Make Their Own Path With ‘Badder Love’

EVNNE’s first comeback with ‘UGLY‘ proved that we would never be able to figure out what they would come up with next. These boys have just too much to offer. And indeed, ‘Badder Love’ is unlike anything we had heard from them before, and we love every second of it. Starting a new era, EVNNE continue to surprise us and serve us the best music: their third mini-album, RIDE or DIE, is new proof of it!

‘Badder Love’

EVNNE are in their coming-of-age, teen angst era, and we’re obsessed. They showed us their troublemaker side with their debut and their darker side with ‘UGLY,‘ but ‘Badder Love’ is all about a youthful pop sound filled with nostalgia and joy. This song is about the complexity of love and growing up, accepting things that aren’t perfect, trusting ourselves, and making our own path. ‘Badder Love’ is an addictive pop song, and EVNNE fit this concept perfectly – clearly, they can fit everything.

We can’t recommend watching the music video enough. This is where EVNNE go all in with the coming-of-age vibe, especially with the found family trope. ‘Badder Love’ is a beautiful music video not only for its aesthetics but also because of how it portrays the close bond and friendship between the seven members. ‘Badder Love’ is a treat for the ear and the eyes, and it feels taken right out of our dreams.

RIDE or DIE

‘Badder Love’ can easily be considered our new favorite EVNNE title track, but they didn’t get better only in the title track. The b-sides are also really something incredible.

RIDE or DIE starts strong with ‘I <3 U.’ This groovy track is obviously a love song, but it’s an uplifting one and an instant serotonin boost. The song feels quirky, carefree, and fresh. You could even say ‘I <3 U’ is cool – perfect for the summer. ‘XO’ catches your attention immediately with the rhythmic guitar pattern. The production of this track is incredible and makes the song go so hard, especially on the bridge, where it reaches the peak of its energy. This witty, lowkey seductive track is truly a gem.

The mini-album strips it back with ‘2X.’ In their second mini-album, we didn’t get a proper ballad, so we’re so happy that they brought it back for RIDE or DIE. ‘2X’ is the perfect occasion to make their beautiful vocals shine. And with this almost soul-influenced sound, ‘2X’ is truly unique in their discography and a great way to show their versatility as artists. It’s a gorgeous song. And if you need another serotonin boost, ‘Boom Bari’ is right there for you with its uplifting, cutesy, and bright energy. This song will get stuck in your head, that’s for sure.

But that’s not where it ends, because ‘Badder Love’ has an English version. So yes, we will be able to sing ‘Badder Love’ at the top of our lungs without butchering any Korean words. And with those beautiful pop melodies, you bet we need it. The English version captures the same feelings as the original version, emphasizing the complications of love and how imperfect it can be. They ate with this one.

Ahead of their first-ever North American tour, we enter a new era with EVNNE. It hasn’t even been a year since their debut, and they’ve already shown us so much versatility and incredible music. If ‘Badder Love’ proved anything, it’s that EVNNE are ready to do it all, make it their own, and they’re not afraid of it. And we’ll be here for every step of the way.
