Our schedule has been packed with new book reviews, author interviews, and Sweet Reads and Sweet Listens roundups. And we plan to keep it that way for the second half of 2024!
With a new month in our sights, we thought we’d highlight three new July book releases from Simon & Schuster. These July books have just hit our radar, and we think they should be on yours, too!

First, we recommend Andi Porretta’s debut graphic novel, Ready or Not! And this book couldn’t have been released at a better time than July. Ready or Not follows Cassie and her three best friends in their last summer together in New York City. Since the four of them will be separated when college starts, they spend August doing dares and taking risks in a game they invented as kids. Even though Cassie’s determined to make these memories last, she must also come to terms with having a future without her friend group.

Next in our July books roundup, we have Hemant Nayak’s new YA fantasy, A Magic Fierce And Bright! Our last July book recommendation is Dr. Seema Yasmin’s new novel, Unbecoming. Set in Texas after the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, Unbecoming follows two Muslim teenagers working to create a guide for teenagers to find abortion care. When Laylah finds out that she’s pregnant, their guide becomes that much more essential. She can’t tell anyone, not even her best friend Noor. But Laylah soon learns that the journey to getting an abortion and the fight for bodily autonomy takes more than one person.
