We’re dripping in sweat, not just because it’s officially summertime, but because Emotional Oranges is back with two new spicy songs. 🍊🔥 We’ve been obsessed with this duo since we heard ‘Don’t Be Lazy’ for the first time and immediately fell in love. Now, we’ve got two new citrusy songs to play, ‘Peak’ and ‘HOT OUTSIDE.’ If you are searching for a West Coast, R&B, and overall good summer vibe, then Emotional Oranges has all your bases covered.
Emotional Oranges takes artistry to the next level. Yes, their songs/songwriting are amazing, but have you seen their visuals? A mark of true artistry is the ability to make your art digestible in all forms, visual and lyrical. We always love it when artists go the extra mile to put effort into the visual concepts behind their songs or albums, and Emotional Oranges’ is taking the cake thus far this summer.

Now, for the songs themselves. They are both very different, but both are uniquely Emotional Oranges. ‘Peak’ is the perfect track to relax under the summer sun. Perhaps you’re getting that great tan by the pool or reading your new favorite romance book in the shade on your front porch. Either way, ‘Peak’ should be playing in the background to enhance your summer afternoon.
I always really liked the early Snakehips tracks so to get to cook this one up with them was dope. And after a few years of being the mid tempo murderers, it’s cool to hear us on a chill, lo-fi house track lolll. We had to make something fun to soundtrack another emotional Summer.

‘HOT OUTSIDE’ is for the girlies who refuse to stay seated inside this summer, but rather want to get up and dance in the club! It’s certainly way too hot outside, so why not hit that cool AC’d club floor? This track also brings that West Coast feel, with more hyped energy and lyrics.
Anycia is cold af! Ever since I heard her tone, I’ve been obsessed with the way she slides on records. And it honestly might be the smoothest feature process we’ve ever gone through. She heard the song and immediately fucked with it, and sent something back when she said she was going to (accountability is a beautiful trait). We made the track with my brother Dante Jones (of THEY.). Both of us grew up on Scott Storch and Dre and our project has been missing that westcoast energy for a minute now!

This track features the beautiful Anycia, who we’ve been recently following and loving! It was such a pleasant surprise to see her featured on this track and we are looking forward to her launch into stardom!
To no one’s surprise, we’ll be bumpin’ these tracks along with the rest of the duo’s discography all summer long! Which of these two new Emotional Oranges tracks do you like the best? Let us know in the comments below or by finding us on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook 🐝
