The Cristál Ball Tour rolled through Houston and we had the time of our life! If y’all are not familiar with Sapphira Cristál, let us give you the low down on this absolute queen… We even got to interview her back in July, which you can read here!
She Is The Winner Of Our Hearts
Sapphira Cristál was the runner-up on the 16th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race and we completely fell in love with her during the entire season! Getting to see her hometown show in Houston was an honor and we fell even more in love with her. Coming out with her hair in a pinwheel design (that is repurposed from her iconic Drag Race run), Sapphira, a classically trained composer/operatic singer, performed an opera number that turned out to be an iconic fake-out, with her running backstage to re-emerge for her next number.
The Cristál Ball Tour Comes Home
We won’t give too much away about the show (because you need to see it for yourself), but getting to see Sapphira thrive in her hometown was something we won’t ever forget. Her old teachers from HSPVA, High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, were also in the crowd! I’m sure getting to hear ‘Enough’ and ‘Get Your Flowers’ was as special to them as it was to us!
This performance definitely lived up to the hype that is surrounding Sapphira Cristál! From opera singing to iconic pop moments to dancing with her backup dancers, to monologues and audience games, this show has something for everyone. There was a ton of audience interaction throughout the show, which made it that much more fun for Sapphira’s fans. We will forever feel honored and blessed that we got to see Sapphira grace the House of Blues stage in Houston and witness her in her element.
