If you’re a The Kid LAROI enjoyer like us, you probably have noticed that THE FIRST TIME has marked a new beginning in the rapper’s legacy. This whole album is (and always will be) one of our favorite projects ever. We have been welcomed to LAROI’s world in a new light while also experiencing this incredible era with him through his performances and storytelling. It’s such a masterpiece, and we’re so thankful we will keep making memories with its newest deluxe version!
The deluxe version of THE FIRST TIME includes five new songs that we’ve seen previewed on LAROI’s social media a handful of times. These beats have been stuck in our heads for a long time, so we’re insanely happy that we can enjoy their studio versions on repeat now! Every single track fits the mood of the original album perfectly. We think releasing these new additions was smart since LAROI has been working on even more music that is different both genre and mood-wise, and he’s ready to move on with new bops. Let’s get deeper into every song from the deluxe and why we think they’re the best choices to say goodbye to THE FIRST TIME!
‘BABY I’M BACK’
Picture this: you’re hitting play on this deluxe, and you’re welcomed by a banger of an intro track. From an iconic sample to some of the best verses LAROI has ever written, ‘BABY I’M BACK’ deserves a top spot in our ranking of his discography. The song serves as a life recap of the crazy year that he has had (in a good way!). We are big fans of seeing our favorite artists not giving a f*ck and creating the music that they want with their hearts in their hands. ‘BABY I’M BACK’ is our favorite track from this deluxe, and we are manifesting that LAROI opens his next live shows with this song. It’s a complete 10/10!
‘STICK WITH ME’
LAROI has a signature style when it comes to production and lyricism. His songs are polished with incredible beats, and ‘STICK WITH ME’ is a real example of what it means to be a The Kid LAROI creation. Nobody else could’ve done this song! He just flows through the track with lyrics directed toward his partner and his desire to be together for a long time. His rapping skills are no joke, and if you don’t think he’s the real deal after this track, then you’re missing out! Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
‘PICK SIDES’
We’ve been asking for this song ever since LAROI posted a TikTok with it, and he has delivered! ‘PICK SIDES’ is such a fun track! Its production is perfect for the summer (can we talk about that outro? Just gorgeous!). And the chorus is so addicting that we’ve been singing it 24/7. THE FIRST TIME deals with love and relationship themes from top to bottom, and that’s why this song fits the original album so well. It’s hard to move on from someone who’s on the fence about holding you in a grip or falling in love with someone else. You just want to say what LAROI sings to their face: “Can you pick sides already?“
‘NIGHTS LIKE THIS PT 2’
One of the most popular songs from the original album got a sequel in this deluxe! The second part of ‘NIGHTS LIKE THIS’ is a pretty great follow-up to its sister track, as it sticks to the original production style with more sincere lyrics. We think this song does a really good job at going deeper into the feelings LAROI wanted to convey with the first track. “It’s nights like this I’d spend with someone / disappointed ’cause it’s just not us” is a perfect example of that! We’re so glad our favorite rapper decided to do a longer version for this ‘NIGHTS LIKE THIS’ saga. It’s truly a The Kid LAROI masterclass!
‘HATRED’
“This might cause an argument after we say this,” but we’re so happy that ‘HATRED’ made the cut for this deluxe! Both LAROI and Lil Yachty killed it with their verses, making this track insanely fun and catchy. The song has been a staple and a fan favorite in every show from THE FIRST TIME TOUR. Moshing and jumping around alongside this track is the best thing ever, and it deserved to be highlighted in the official album before THE FIRST TIME era was over. We will definitely be sharing the song now, so that you can join the ‘HATRED’ train. It’s never too late to jump in!
Australia Tour
Speaking of THE FIRST TIME TOUR, LAROI is just starting with it! He’s going back home to Australia to do his biggest leg yet in November with incredible guests.
