Pretty Girls Are Streaming ‘Mantra’ By JENNIE

After months of eagerly waiting, we finally have our first ‘SOLO’ release from the one and only JENNIE since she announced her partnership with Columbia Records and ODDATELIER! She’s rightfully claiming her throne as a global it girl with ‘Mantra,’ which is destined to become the empowering song of the fall. It effortlessly blends JENNIE’s bold and sophisticated sides with an earworm hook and fun attitude that sees her proclaiming, “sometimes girls just gotta have fun.” 

It’s the perfect song to begin my new era. I think ‘Mantra’ will make my fans happy but also show a new side of me as a solo artist. The song was inspired by my time recording in Los Angeles and hopefully fans feel that energy – which is about being positive, being expressive, and being true to who you are. It’s energetic and empowering with a message for all of my ladies, women, and pretty girls out there to love yourself for who you are. This is your anthem.

We knew the ‘Mantra’ music video would be legendary as soon as we heard that JENNIE recruited director Tanu Muino for the job! She’s previously worked on iconic videos like Lil Nas X’s ‘MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name),’ Harry Styles’ ‘Lights Up,’ and Dua Lipa’s ‘Illusion.’ Legends only, so a video with JENNIE is the perfect addition to her catalog! 

The video opens with a little girl singing the song in the backseat of a car stuck in traffic, which is so relatable since we haven’t been able to stop singing ‘Mantra’ since it came out. And throughout the video, JENNIE regularly switches into outfits that are equally stunning, but have a wide range of aesthetics, which we think represents how women can have so many dimensions to them even if others don’t bother to see past the surface. It’s a thought-provoking, stylish statement about celebrating each aspect of who you are and using your individuality to inspire others!

It reflects the main theme of female empowerment and confidence. It was important for the overall vision to be consistent, and I love how it turned out. I’m so excited to finally put it out there.

If this is just the first taste of JENNIE’s new era, we can’t imagine how much we’ll love what else she has planned for us! We already know her upcoming solo album will become our entire personality when it comes out.
