It was almost a week before Halloween, and Houston fans were making their way to Bayou Music Center for The Dashboard Confessional 2024 Fall Tour. Fans came out in droves and knew our emo kings and queens would put on an incredible show. Taylor Acorn, Boys Like Girls, and Dashboard Confessional all in one night? DC really said ‘nostalgia rights!’

Taylor Acorn
Although Taylor Acorn had been unwell the past few days, she came out and put on an incredible performance for Houston. Playing our favorites: ‘Coma,’ ‘Greener,’ and ‘Shapeshifting,’ we knew that Taylor would get the crowd ready for BLG and DC to come out later in the night.
We have been longtime fans of Taylor and have loved getting to see her growth, from her covers on Tiktok to playing all sorts of tours and now being announced to play WWWY Festival next year, we know that Taylor is going to go so far in her career and we can’t wait to be there every step of the way!

Boys Like Girls
Our original outlaws of emo were up next and they never disappoint us. We saw them in Vegas for the Charity Bomb show and at WWWY Festival and getting to see them a third time within a week’s timespan was an absolute treat!
Two decades into their career, Boys Like Girls has continued to get better and better and we love getting to see them do what they love on stage. It was a nostalgia fest with songs from their newest album, SUNDAYS AT FOXWOOD, thrown in and yes, we did scream ‘Miracle’ back at them. We couldn’t help ourselves… We may or may not have a video of ourselves screaming along that will never see the light of day…
Towards to end of the night, BLG told everyone to put their phones up and record this one part of the song, ‘The Great Escape.’ But once that snippet was over, everyone had to put their phones away and just live in the moment. And we gotta say… it’s probably one of our favorite parts of the show. Even though their set was coming to an end, we loved that they asked the crowd to put their phones away because being able to scream sing ‘The Great Escape/Love Drunk’ back to BLG with out fellow fans (without 100s of phones in the air) was something we will never forget.

Dashboard Confessional
The time has finally come for Dashboard Confessional to come on stage. Starting out with ‘The Best Deceptions’ and going into ‘Again I Go Unnoticed’ made us that much more excited for this set to commence. Chris Carrabba is a musical genius and getting to see him do what he loves in person was so special. Throughout the years we got to hear Dashboard Confessional through TV/movie soundtracks and their albums, but finally getting to hear these songs live and sing along with our fellow fans felt incredibly special.
Towards the end of the set, Chris brought out Boys Like Girls to perform ‘Watch the Fire’ and we loved getting to see this live! We’ve had this song on repeat since it was released and we will be treasuring the fact that we got to see them perform it together. Ending the set with an encore of ‘Hands Down’ really fueled the nostalgia factor for us. We never thought we’d see this song live since we were pretty young when it came out, but it is their top song on Spotify for a reason! It’s just that good.

All in all, this was an incredible show and we are so happy we got to attend and get these photos! We’ll be keeping them close to our hearts and looking at them when we miss our faves now that this tour is over.
