It’s that time again! We are back with the best of what’s new in the music world this week! We have the new Abigail Barlow track, the new Will Swinton track, and so much more!
Auli’i Cravahlo from Moana 2 – ‘Beyond’
When it comes to soundtracks, Moana is about as magical as they get. The soundtrack for the first movie came out in 2016 and we still listen all of the time, so the bar has been set so incredibly high for this second installment! But of course, with Barlow & Bear behind the wheel, every sneak peek we’ve had has been flawless. ‘Beyond’ is the first full-length song we are getting from this movie, and all of the magic is right there. We leave this track feeling inspired, and ready to run to the nearest theater.

Beth McKenzie – ‘Inside Out’
Beth had said ‘Inside Out’ is one of her most emotional songs to date, and after listening, we can definitely see what a labor of love this stunning track is. We got emotional each time we re-listened to ‘Inside Out,’ you could hear just how true to Beth’s self these lyrics are.

Abigail Barlow – ‘Modern Day Madonna’
We talked about Barlow & Bear earlier while talking about Moana 2, and Abigail Barlow is half of that duo! Believe it or not, Abigail has somehow found time to craft what is sure to be one of the best soundtracks of the year, while also establishing herself as a true pop princess! She can do it all!
‘Modern Day Madonna’ immediately asserts itself as a pop classic, bringing in sounds of pop in the 90’s/2000s and blending them seamlessly with the sounds of today’s pop. We can’t wait to hear a full-length project from Abigail!

Meg Mac – ‘Home’
‘Home’ is one of those songs that has basically hypnotized us since the first listen, and somehow, Meg Mac was able to make the track even more beautiful. We could (and have) listen to Meg play piano and sing this track for hours on end and still find new things to love about this cover.

Sierra Carson – ‘bad fruit’
We just read on Sierra’s social media that ‘bad fruit’ started out as a poem, and after listening to the track, that makes perfect sense. ‘bad fruit’ is such a stunning flex of Sierra’s writing muscle, and to us, that is going to be what catapults her into all of your playlists.

Jana Diab – Season One (Extended)
Jana Diab is the name you’re going to be hearing a lot of in the next year, mark our words! We knew after listening to Season One (the standard version) that Jana was bringing something special to the industry in a way that we couldn’t point to another artist taking the exact path she is. This extended version of Season One shows that Jana is just going to keep getting better, there is no slowing her down.

Will Swinton – ‘Walls’
We have completely become obsessed with the artist we are closing out this week’s new music round-up with, Will Swinton! Will has one of those voices that instantly captivates, and shows emotion upfront, and that is crystal clear here on ‘Walls.’ And while the studio version of ‘Walls’ is excellent on its own, this live performance is truly the way to listen.
