Is ENHYPEN still keeping up their reputation as one of the busiest bands in the world? There’s ‘No Doubt’ about it! They might have just kicked off the Japan dates of the WALK THE LINE tour, but that won’t stop them from dropping their second repackage album, ROMANCE: UNTOLD -daydream-. Alongside it, ENHYPEN has released videos for both new songs, ‘Daydream’ and the title track ‘No doubt,’ which have both lowkey blown our minds.
ROMANCE: UNTOLD -daydream-
As this comeback is a repackage of ROMANCE: UNTOLD, we figure we should quickly recap that album, right? The album brought us music videos for ‘XO (Only If You Say Yes)’ and ‘Brought The Heat Back,’ promotions for ‘Hundred Broken Hearts,’ and that ‘Moonstruck’ choreo. So it’s safe to say it was a pretty iconic era, huh? Well, thanks to the repackage, one of our favorite albums this year gets a whole new lease of life.

‘Daydream’
The new repackaged album aptly opens with a song of the same name: ‘Daydream.’ And if you’re wondering if the whispering scared us the first time we heard it, the answer is absolutely yes. The track is unabashedly hip-hop, and heavily influenced by old-school K-Pop. The whispering serves a dual purpose: it makes ‘Daydream’ extremely eerie, whilst also making this ENHYPEN b-side one of the coolest we’ve ever heard from them. The sparse whispers are at odds with the rich, pulsating beat in such a satisfying way, before building to some of the most decadent R&B harmonies you could [day]dream of. The official track video, as always, is full of references to ENHYPEN’s lore too, from the members’ bat shadows to Sunoo’s bat pupils. They don’t miss a trick!
‘No Doubt’
Considering it’s in competition with ‘XO (Only If You Say Yes),’ it feels like a big deal to say ‘No Doubt’ might be one of our top title tracks this year, but it’s true! ‘No Doubt’ is a synth-pop bop, which is classic ENHYPEN. Following on from ‘XO,’ and ‘Daydream,’ ENHYPEN become more sure than ever that their ‘love’ is the right person for them, despite any obstacles or distance. Where ‘XO’ was red hearts and pink bubblegum, ‘No Doubt’ is a surrealist, sweaty office job. Literal surrealism (yes, we know that’s an oxymoron) with the break-in-case-of-emergency lobster that instantly reminded us of Salvador Dali’s ‘Telephone Lobster.’
That’s not where the weirdness stops, either. We’re actually not ready to talk about whatever is going on with Niki’s hands (claws?), the heart-shaped bite marks, or whether or not ENHYPEN become holograms after breaking out of the office building. Or were they holograms all along? The song might be called ‘No Doubt,’ but we have a lot of doubts about our ability to decipher ENHYPEN’s lore, TBH.
