You may know Meg Donnelly as Addison from Disney’s ZOMBIES franchise, Taylor from American Housewife, or Mary from the Supernatural spinoff The Winchesters. But here at The Honey POP, we know her as the next pop superstar who’s gonna take over everyone’s playlists! Her latest offering, ‘In My Bag,’ is the sweet throwback song you’ve been waiting for, and it’ll totally sweep you off your feet whether you’re listening on a girls’ night out or in your room alone. It’s bouncy and confident enough to boost your mood while also being perfect for a more low-key Saturday night! We can’t wait to see the adorable OOTD videos and TikTok vlogs people will inevitably make with this track.
‘in my bag’ is meant to boost your boldness and hopefully make you dance! Following ‘by my heart,’ I wanted to show that you can be two things at once, vulnerable and confident! This song was so much fun to make, using so many samples inspired by one of my favorite music eras, the early 2000’s! I hope to bring you some fun nostalgia while you listen! Get ready to dance to it, and flirt with it!

Speaking of “giving crush,” can we talk about how Meg’s personal style is shining through this era?! We need our hands on all the bags she flaunts in the ‘in my bag’ visual! It soooo gives us 90s sitcom intro vibes, and if it really were a sitcom intro, we’d be binging the show left and right. Yes, this is totally us admitting that Meg is our wardrobe crush, but you can’t blame us. Just look at the material.
Meg recently joined the Range Music roster and has already given us two amazing gems to jam out to: ‘in my bag’ and her previous single, ‘by my heart.’ Where ‘in my bag’ is fresh and enticing, ‘by my heart’ is grounded and perfectly imperfect, seeing Meg admit some of her flaws while challenging others to judge her “by [her] heart” rather than what they might see on the surface. Just two songs into this new chapter, she’s already shown us so much range and versatility!
If you’re a newer fan of Meg’s music but loved her in ZOMBIES, we think ‘by my heart’ would be a perfect entrance point for you! You can definitely see it as an anthem for Addison, especially in the first movie. For example, while she’s learning how to help the zombies feel more included at school, she tries to say “welcome to Seabrook” in Zombie tongue. But Zed tells her she “thanked [him] for rubbing peanut butter on [her] umbrella.” Ouch! In the end, though, Addison’s intentions are clear despite her mistakes and she’s a driving force behind the zombies getting fair treatment at Seabrook High.
