As we’ve seen in 2024, The Kid LAROI has no intention of stopping his streak of incredible releases, and we just got another single to add to that! This time, LAROI partnered with another legendary artist, Quavo, to deliver the grooviness and the heat of ‘SLOW IT DOWN.’ Seeing these two great rappers with fantastic flow in the same studio was like a dream come true for us. We cannot stop listening to this new song; they complement each other so well!
Our hype to listen to this track was off the roof (as with every LAROI release). We all know he’s the king of teasing us with snippets when he loves a song, so we were extremely excited! Not only that, but LAROI has been preparing for his biggest tour leg to date: performing back in Australia in some of the biggest venues that his home country has to offer. ‘SLOW IT DOWN’ was the perfect single to kick off these live performances!
Now that ‘SLOW IT DOWN’ is out, we must admit that LAROI has an incredible assortment of collaborations. From creating songs that have skyrocketed his career to tracks that you must listen to get into his music, he has it all. To celebrate this new release with Quavo, we’ve given you a list of six iconic collabs by our favorite rapper that you must have in your playlists!
‘STAY (with Justin Bieber)’
We obviously have to talk about this classic! If you haven’t gotten a chance to listen to LAROI’s solo discography, this is probably the song that you know by him. ‘STAY’ is one of the biggest hits of our generation, and it holds so much significance for LAROI, his relationship with Justin Bieber (who has become one of his dearest friends), and his handling of rapidly rising in every music chart imaginable. It also shows how LAROI is incredibly versatile between the pop and rap genres and how he has the potential to create unforgettable tunes! You cannot deny the success that LAROI has gathered thanks to ‘STAY.’ It will always be his most significant stepping stone!
‘DIVA (feat. Lil Tecca)’
Another incredible staple of LAROI’s! If you have enjoyed attending one of his concerts, you’ve probably jumped and rapped along to this track. It doesn’t matter if you are a big fan or if it’s your first time listening to it; ‘DIVA’ is the song everyone is excited to enjoy live! It’s one of his most emblematic collabs with some of his most famous lyrics, like “My life is a movie directed by Tarantino” and “23 should be all on my back the way that I be ballin’.” LAROI and Lil Tecca are very high on our list of favorite LAROI duos, and we hope ‘DIVA’ remains in the live setlists forever!
‘GO (feat. Juice WRLD)’
Some artists are destined to meet and learn from one another, and that’s precisely what happened with LAROI and Juice WRLD. Juice was an incredible mentor to LAROI when he just started diving into the music industry. After the rapper passed, LAROI promised to honor Juice’s legacy always. From shouting “Long Live Juice” to releasing songs dedicated to the rapper and always playing a track of his discography after the shows, LAROI continues to appreciate him in everything he does.
LAROI released some tracks with his mentor before he passed away, and ‘GO’ is the one that touches our hearts the most. It’s an amazing song that showcases how young LAROI combined his determination to make it big and his appreciation for Juice. ‘GO’ is like a time capsule that allows us to explore LAROI’s beginnings.
‘TOO MUCH (feat. Jungkook & Central Cee)’
You know how much we love this track in the hive! It has become our entire personality since its release! And for a great reason: it’s terrific and catchy! LAROI kicked out the FIRST TIME era with this incredible collaboration that combines cultures and great flow from Jungkook and Central Cee. We feel like ‘TOO MUCH’ is still really fun! As LAROI goes back and forth between pop and rap throughout his discography, this song balances both genres. Who doesn’t love a song that brings together our favorite pop boy and iconic rappers? We’re always down to listen to it on repeat!
‘WHAT’S THE MOVE? (feat. Future and BabyDrill)’
Speaking of legendary artists, LAROI collaborated with Future (yes, we’re still in awe of this occurrence) on one of his best singles! ‘WHAT’S THE MOVE?’ joined the insane collection of singles from THE FIRST TIME, and it added that electric, hyped-up feeling we needed before diving into this complete album. The instrumental will always make us excited to jump alongside these artists! Plus, all of the verses from this track are phenomenal, including LAROI’s catchy hook and BabyDrill’s outro. This artistic trio is everything that we needed!
‘HATRED (feat. Lil Yachty)’
We had to add ‘HATRED’ to our list; it’s just too iconic not to! If you’re like us, you used to replay your videos from the mosh pits that happen when LAROI performs this song live to relive the moment and because this song has been through hell and back before being released. As we kept getting increasingly excited about this collab, LAROI decided to drop it for free so we could have the studio version before its official delivery on the deluxe version of THE FIRST TIME. We’re so thankful we could listen to this great collab with Lil Yachty before his deluxe album! “This might cause an argument after we say this,” but LAROI’s love and appreciation for his fanbase will forever be more important to him than sitting with a great song on the drafts!
If you are in Australia until November 30th, you do not want to miss out on LAROI live. His energy on stage is on another level, and he will add some of these collaborations to his setlist! You can still find some tickets for his shows. Be sure to grab some and be ready for the time of your life!
