Genshin Impact
Ok, maybe we’re starting with the obvious pick here, but how can we not? We have counted the weeks, the days, until Genshin Impact‘s highly anticipated update, and starting January with it? What better way to kickstart the year! The drip marketing revealed the much-awaited Natlan Pyro Archon, Mavuika, to finally get her own banner, and a lot of players are excited to pull for her. And she’s not the only new character coming our way. The immensely talented Citlali will be joining in on the new release train in Genshin‘s Version 5.3. We have been awaiting the day these two become playable since we laid eyes on their designs and even more after meeting them through the Archon quest. After experiencing Version 5.2‘s Interlude, we certainly can’t wait to see how the Natlan arc wraps up. We’re so ready for that next chapter.
No, we did not forget to mention the third new character introduced to us. Hold on, we know what we’re doing. Lan Yan, wielding an Anemo vision from Liyue, comes at a very special time. Genshin‘s Version 5.3 will collide with the Lunar New Year at the end of January, and we know what that implies. That’s right, Liyue’s grand festival, Lantern Rite, usually accompanied by specially dedicated events and rewards, meaning there is so much to look forward to in this next update. And for it to hit as soon as 2025 knocks on our doors makes for an even bigger celebration.

Wuthering Waves
The next game update on our list also arrives almost as soon as 2025 starts. After venturing on an adventure with the Rover, who forgot about their past and origin, we encountered many new friends, as well as enemies. We made new memories, learned a bit about that mysterious past, and experienced things we won’t forget. But our journey is barely just starting!
Wuthering Waves is preparing to enter its Version 2.0 on January 2. It will introduce us to a brand new region called Rinascita. From the promotional materials going around on the game’s official platforms, we are extremely curious to see what this place has to offer for us. And we’re especially looking forward to meeting its new characters and playing through the following story chapters alongside them. From the looks of it, we will get to experience Carlotta and Roccia’s gameplay first. We are already trying to save our pulls for those gorgeous designs. To make this update even more notable, players will be able to play Wuthering Waves on the PlayStation 5. So, if you have been waiting for this news to finally add this Gacha game into your regular roster, your chance is coming!

Honkai: Star Rail
While the previous two Gacha games will hit it off as soon as we switch the calendar, our last title on the list will give us some days to prepare. Honkai: Star Rail will also be having a grand update, going into its Version 3.0, and will also have a new realm for us to explore. This is already huge news, and with how they keep outdoing themselves each time, we are beyond curious to see what the update has in store for us.
Expected in January, we’ll board the Astral Express again to jump into the mysterious Amphoreus, The Eternal Land. There is much to learn about this hidden place and its inhabitants. From the Saga of Heroes trailer, we can already tell that the character design will truly be epic, fitting for the upcoming theme. We also know that the new version will introduce us to the path of Remembrance, which comes with a unique trait for its followers: they will have special summons, which already sounds quite exciting to see in the game and how it will change our current teams and our playstyles. Speaking of teams, we also got a glimpse of the two shiny new characters, thanks to the Honkai: Star Rail drip marketing. We are absolutely excited to see the five-star version of Herta: The Herta. We will also get the first Amphoreus character we can pull for, the beautiful five-star Aglaea. And let’s not forget the drip also featured the Trailblazer switching to the path of Remembrance and with what seemed to be their own little adorable summon. Ok, we feel like the wait is so long. but we are confident it will be worth it. We can’t wait to start playing through the new saga and explore every corner of Amphoreus.
