2024 has been full of surprises for musician Djo, aka Joe Keery, who witnessed his music surprisingly fall victim to a TikTok trend. It skyrocketed his music career in ways he never thought would happen. We know it’s only going to go up from here… So, let’s take a look back at how 2024 has been in the world of Djo!
‘End of Beginning’ Going Viral
Towards the end of February, Djo’s single ‘End of Beginning‘ became a TikTok trend. Various users created video compilations showcasing their favorite places or moments that changed their lives set to the song. It has a nostalgic sound that evokes a longing for a specific time in your life. The internet embraced the song, and its popularity continued to grow. In just a few months, ‘End of Beginning‘ reached 1 billion streams, and Djo now has 25.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Djo Presents At The BRIT Awards
With the newfound attention on his music, Djo was invited to present at the BRIT Awards on March 2nd. This marked a significant moment in his music career, as he had the opportunity to help recognize a fellow musician for their achievements. It was also his first time in London, making it an even more special occasion. He presented the ‘Best New Artist’ award to the winner, RAYE, a category he described as “one of the best awards,” and we couldn’t agree more.
Coachella, Laneway & More
Within the last few months, Djo has been announced as a performer at several festivals around the world in 2025! He will kick off with the Laneway Festival in Australia and New Zealand in February and Coachella in the USA in April. In June, he’ll perform at the Hurricane and Southside Festivals in Germany, as well as the Best Kept Secret Festival in Belgium. Since he hasn’t performed since 2022, we are all excited to hear him showcase music from both of his albums. Hopefully, there will be some new tunes, too!
