Today, we’re reviewing Interabled by Shane & Hannah Burcaw, whom you may know better as Squirmy and Grubs on YouTube!
Interabled highlights stories about so many couples in interabled relationships, which involves one or both partners living with a disability. This book also features Hannah and Shane’s own relationship, from the early days of dating to their journey with IVF.
We’re kicking off the year with this nonfiction collection, and we can’t wait to see what you think. Here are three signs you’ll enjoy reading Interabled by Shane & Hannah Burcaw as much as we did!

You Live For Diverse Books
One thing about us: we look for diverse books like our lives depend on it. And if you’re like us, then you’ll love Interabled. Because Interabled gives us such a diverse perspective on dating and being in a romantic relationship with someone with a disability. Spoiler alert: it’s not at all different from relationships between people without disabilities. We absolutely love how this book amplifies such authentic stories and the normalcy of interabled relationships. It aims to dispel any assumptions and negative biases people may have about couples with disabilities, and we live for it!
You Enjoy Learning New Things
Let’s go along the same lines of celebrating diversity and disability representation. It’s 2025, y’all. Keeping an open mind and learning new things can do you a lot of good. Interabled shows us so many new ways to love and care for someone. It shows us how caregiving is something natural that anyone would want to do in a relationship. And a recurring theme we found throughout this book is that clear, honest, and open communication is the key to a fulfilling, lifelong relationship.
You’re A Sucker For Love Stories
Finally, if you just love hearing about or reading love stories, go ahead and preorder Interabled. Prepare to connect with dozens of strangers because these stories and interviews will honestly change your life for the better. We couldn’t pick our favorite couple even if we tried. This book has the ability to make you believe in true love again. There are people who will love you as you are. Just like the couples in Interabled, you’ll find your way to them. Trust.
Interabled by Shane & Hannah Burcaw does the two things we love most about a book: it celebrates diversity with disability representation, and it makes us believe in true love again.
