There’s nothing like a new band to listen to to bring light into your life with amazing art. If you’re looking for a new pop-rock band to get obsessed over, Sector 5 is the band for you. The up-and-coming Berlin-based band already has several releases, and they’ve experienced touring all across the globe, but there’s nothing like a debut album. 2025 will be the year of Sector 5 with the release of their first album, and to say you’ve been here since day one, here are some of their previous songs that you should check out!
‘Never Never’
Even though Sector 5 hasn’t released their debut album, that doesn’t mean they don’t have many songs in their discography that deserve all the attention. Sector 5 has many sides to them. Their music can be dark and angsty, but it can also be like in songs like ‘Never Never.’ This 2024 song is a bright, uplifting track that fills you with energy. Aside from being a great example of how Sector 5 seamlessly includes rap in their pop-rock sound, ‘Never Never’ feels like a breath of fresh air.
‘Sometimes’
‘Sometimes’ is an absolute gem in Sector 5’s discography, with its luring instrumental leaning more on the rock side and its explosive chorus. This track is a perfect example of how Sector 5 creates songs that feel unique to them yet familiar, just like a long-time friend. ‘Sometimes’ keeps building up through the track, making it one of Sector 5’s best songs and one of their catchiest, too.
‘Hazy’
Setting aside the positive energy of ‘Never Never’ and the pop-rock excellence of ‘Sometimes,’ ‘Hazy’ exemplifies another side to Sector 5 and a unique one at that. ‘Hazy‘ is a slow-paced song that leans in on different styles that make the song sound somber. It’s all about creating a hypnotic sound that lures you in. ‘Hazy’ is unique in Sector 5’s discography but a great way to see how they dabble in different genres and inspirations.
‘Appetite’
Another track from 2023 that should be on the top of your to-listen list is ‘Appetite.’ This is one of those tracks that feel happier than they actually are. ‘Appetite’ finds a light in the dark. It’s a song for the days when you feel like you don’t belong and flips it as a good thing. Not belonging can mean exploring the world and finding purpose and ambition. ‘Appetite’ is a great song for the days that feel hopeless. ‘Ghosts’
Sector 5 has been around for a while, but 2025 is sure to be their year. Their first album is right around the corner, and the main star of the show? ‘Ghosts.’ This new single was not only the announcement of this massive upcoming milestone, but also ‘Ghosts’ is the song that puts Sector 5 to another level musically. The lyrics hit hard, the melodies are polished yet filled with raw emotions, and the production has never been better. ‘Ghosts’ is an explosive track that proves their power as a band. This is the type of song that any pop-rock and pop-punk lover would easily fall in love with.
‘Ghosts’ is such a massive song for the band that an acoustic version was released—and it’s even more addictive. This version strips the instruments down to let the pop melodies and emotional vocals take the main stage and create a beautiful atmosphere. While there is a regular acoustic version, Sector 5 also released an acoustic version with up-and-coming artist Alexandra Kessler after a cover competition. Her voice sounds angelic and makes ‘Ghosts’ take on a whole other sense. In every version, ‘Ghosts’ has to be the song to listen to by Sector 5.
