Jack Harlow is back! And boy, have we missed him. For a while, we thought Jack had disappeared from the face of the Earth, but he’s been surprising us with new music this year, so we’re back in our Jack Harlow-obsessive era (but, we never really left to be honest). Up until recently, we’ve been streaming ‘Hello Miss Johnson’ on repeat. When we heard the news that Jack would be dropping yet another surprise track, we couldn’t contain our excitement.
‘Set You Free’
Jack’s latest drop is titled ‘Set You Free,’ and it’s a Jack Harlow track if we’ve ever heard one. Right off the bat, the production caught our attention. It reminded us of one of our favorite Jack Harlow songs, ‘THRU THE NIGHT (feat. Bryson Tiller),’ so of course that was a sign that we were off on the right foot.
This song is all about leaving someone to work on yourself. “I love you, but I love my freedom too (For you) / I know what I must do / But I’m rеally just scared to leave you,” Jack sings. I think all of us honeybees have been there before! Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself, and others, is to be a bit selfish and focus on your well-being. Thank you Jack for voicing the emotions we’ve all been feeling!
‘Tranquility’
If you blinked, you also probably missed the drop of Jack’s other latest single, ‘Tranquility’ back in December. This track is equally as amazing as ‘Set You Free,’ and the two go hand in hand like sister songs. ‘Tranquility’ is about getting rid of toxic people in your life so that you can find peace. It’s also about learning how to not be a people pleaser – I think we can take a page from this book! We have a feeling that these two songs are part of a larger project – so, when is that new album dropping, Jack?
We’re too impatient, and we need that new album now! There haven’t been any official album announcements quite yet, so don’t get too excited honeybees. But, our spidey senses are telling us that one might be coming sooner than we think…
