We are back and better than ever this week with some of the best new releases of the year thus far! From Cynthia Erivo, to The Driver Era, there is something for everyone!
Cynthia Erivo – ‘Replay
There truly is no better way to kick off this week’s new music round-up than with Cynthia Ervio’s new track, ‘Replay.’ ‘Replay’ shows that Cynthia truly can do it all. She has a voice that gives us chills every time and is able to infuse emotion into a song effortlessly. With the success of Wicked and the upcoming part 2 on everyone’s minds, and with Cynthia starring in Jesus Christ Superstar, 2025 is going to truly be the year of Cynthia Erivo, and we are here for it!

Dasha – ‘Not At This Party’
Dasha is quickly becoming a hitmaker; it’s that simple. From ‘Austin’ to ‘Didn’t I,’ Dasha has shown such a deep understanding of the world of pop and of how to intertwine the world of country music within the pop realm. ‘Not At This Party’ is going to be one of those songs that in December we think back on as a highlight of this year.

Lyn Lapid – ‘i’ll be happy when’
If Lyn Lapid isn’t already on your radar, allow ‘i’ll be happy when’ to be your introduction to her musical world. ‘i’ll be happy when’ dives into the feeling so many of us struggle with, filling our heads with all these ideas of what will fulfill us, what will ultimately will make us happy. It’s all ideas and not based in fact, but it can be all-consuming. Lyn Lapid explores that mindset so beautifully, we can’t wait to see how her storytelling further expands on her upcoming album BUZZKILL.

girl in red – ‘confession’
Well, now we know a minute and twenty-four seconds is most definitely enough to make us emotional. Usually, we would consider a track of this length too short, however, girl in red told a complete and heartbreaking story of doubt and reflection. This was such a vulnerable piece of art to put out and is going to resonate with so many people.

Halsey – ‘safeword’
It’s a good time to be a Halsey fan! We just got The Great Impersonator in October, and we already have a new track in the form of ‘safeword.’ This track took us right back to the early 2000s and immediately felt like it was inspired by the likes of Avril Lavinge, which we couldn’t be more on board with. Keeping right on theme with The Great Impersonator. We also could draw similarities to the chorus of a more recent song, ‘brutal’ by pop princess, Olivia Rodrigo. We can’t wait to see how Halsey continues to tell their story through this art form.

Benson Boone – ‘Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else’
Benson Boone is undoubtedly one of the most talented artists we dove into last year! ‘Beautiful Things’ took over the airways, and Benson Boone got a permanent place on our playlists. One listen to ‘Sorry I’m Here For Someone Else,’ and you’ll be fully convinced that the success of the last year for Benson is destined to be something that follows him into this chapter of his musical life. The vocals alone on this track have left us in awe.

The Driver Era – ‘Can’t Believe She Got Away’
As fans of The Driver Era since its conception, we have been fed well with new releases lately! Just this week we’ve had ‘Don’t Take The Night’ and now ‘Can’t Believe She Got Away.’ Both of these tracks stem from their upcoming album, Obsession, which we are only a little over a month from having on a constant loop! With what we’ve heard so far from Obsession, we are getting the classic sound from The Driver Era that we know and love, while still being able to hear the growth in the music. The flow in these recent releases is much more seamless than any work they’ve done thus far. To put it simply, we think Obsession will be the best record to point to if anyone wants to know what The Driver Era’s overall vibe is.
