mgk’s ‘your name forever’ Brings Friends Together For A Beautifully Heartfelt Tribute

Whether it’s new music you get stuck in your head immediately, a movie that keeps your eyes locked on the screen the whole time, or the visual world he builds around his work, mgk pours so much of his heart into every single thing he does. He takes that to a whole new level on ‘your name forever,’ a beautiful tribute to his recently-passed friend Dingo Trembath, a snowboarder who brought countless smiles to the EST community.

Speaking of that community, ‘your name forever’ unites so many beloved artists and people within EST who loved Dingo. mgk wrote the song with his bandmates and soul brothers Slim, Baze, and Rook; as well as past collaborators phem, Dark Waves, and No Love for the Middle Child; and additional contributions from Emma Rosen and Beauty School Dropout’s Cole Hutzler. Avenged Sevenfold’s M. Shadows, Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes, and Mod Sun contributed with backing vocals, and Avenged Sevenfold’s Synyster Gates offered lead guitar. 

i’ll miss your epic toasts, i’ll miss dapping you up and my hand hurting everytime because you had some odd amount of Australian strength goin on, i’ll miss your bellyflops, i’ll miss watching you walk through the door and lifting the energy of every pivotal event in my adult life, i’ll miss you p*ssing me off, but most of all i’ll miss your laugh. you were the glue between all of us.

The music video, directed by Sam Cahill, is just as much of a unifying force, celebrating Dingo’s memory with a mural by Royyal Dog and throwback clips that show how much joy and comfort he brought to those around him.
