After making serious waves with their 2023 debut and chart-smashing second mini album X-82, 82MAJOR is leveling up yet again. With SILENCE SYNDROME fresh on everyone’s playlists, the group proves they’re leading the 5th gen conversation. The project is a bold sonic rebellion crafted with care, sweat, and a whole lot of swagger. It’s a full-on ‘TAKEOVER’ (yes, pun very much intended), and we’re breaking it down to celebrate the boys on release week.
The Title Track We’re All Talking About, ‘TAKEOVER’
The title track, ‘TAKEOVER,’ is a genre-bending firestarter fusing trap, UK drill, and drum & bass—with a chorus shouted in unison by all six members that basically dares you not to scream along. It’s an actual mic-drop moment for the boys. We love how the song blends so much; we’re talking sweeter vocals across the pre-chorus, chilling whispers, collective chorus, and powering up sound effects scattered throughout the song.
It’s not a K-Pop comeback review without talking about the music video. After all, visuals massively help share stories. MV delivers gritty intensity and polished chaos in the best way. Think of stark lighting, dystopian sets, cool transitions, and dynamic camera work that makes you want to pause every two seconds just to catch all the details. Each member gets their moment to shine in solo shots and tight-knit group choreography scenes that explode with precision. The chorus hits like a visual earthquake, with synchronized moves that practically demand a fan chant.
And yes, there’s plenty of that 82MAJOR attitude: confident stares, bold styling, and not a single hair out of place.
‘Heroes’
The album’s second track may be shorter, but it hits just as hard. Opening with a bold English verse, the members declare their presence as young leaders in the industry, setting the tone with confidence and clarity. The hip-hop-driven beat pairs seamlessly with striking lyrics like “Young leader, a visionary, you see ya / I got more freedom stuck in my soul, my town / Do it, do it.” It’s full of catchy one-liners and built for crowd energy—this one was practically made to be chanted live with fans.
‘Passport’
Keeping the same high energy that runs through the album, ‘Passport’ is downright infectious. We’re obsessed with how this track celebrates 82MAJOR’s global presence while bringing back the playful, feel-good vibes reminiscent of their debut ‘First Class.’ The chorus is pure fun, with bouncy beats and imagery that makes you feel like you’re collecting stamps on your passport with every listen.

‘Promise You’
Rounding out the album with a heartfelt love song, ‘Promise You’ brings SILENCE SYNDROME to a gentle, emotional close. It’s tender, melodic, and filled with lyrics that’ll have you swooning in no time.
