MEET BOY IN SPACE
Welcome to the hive, Robin! To get us started, please introduce yourself and two reasons why all our readers should listen to your music.
Thank you! My name is Robin but most know me as Boy In Space. You should listen to my music If you like pop melodies and personal stories coated in organic and heartfelt instrumentals. And if you’re having a bad day.
Your music is the perfect blend of American country, blues, and Scandinavian pop. How have each of these genres shaped your music career thus far?
I’m steeped in Scandinavian pop from me being Swedish, but I’ve always been fascinated by the sound of the U.S. When I last year finally got to set foot in Nashville for the first time my love for these genres only grew. I think it’s something you need to experience live.
One question just for fun: if you could travel to any planet in outer space, which would it be, and what’s one song you’d play for that planet’s inhabitants?
Haha I would go to Mars and play ‘Sway to the Martians.’
THE BUTTERFLY AFFECT
Your new project, The Butterfly Affect, dropped on April 18. Congratulations! How has the initial response from fans been?
My fans seem to connect with it, I can feel it through the beautiful comments and messages. It’s always a special feeling when people love what you do and especially when you’ve worked hard to create something you hope they’d like.
The new EP opens with a track called ‘Dancing On Dynamite’ which really highlights your vocals and beautiful songwriting skills. Which other songs from the EP do you hope listeners connect to?
I think songs are like people, different, and I hope my audience connects to the song/songs that speak to them the most.
‘Too Much To Lose’ just might be our favorite track on The Butterfly Affect. Talk to us about how that song came to life in the studio.
I had been to Nashville for the first time in my life and had just come back to Stockholm. I was in the studio with my friends and colleagues Oskar Widen and Phoebe Ryan. And we tried to create a blend of Swedish pop and Nashville Country. The melodies for me are clearly a mix between both genres and the same goes for the lyrics.
You’ve mentioned that The Butterfly Affect is about internal growth. From writing the first song to writing the last song on this EP, what kind of growth did you see in yourself over the creative journey?
I think I’ve grown as a storyteller from the first to the last song. And it’s been such a journey that I can view from the demos to the final EP.
I can’t wait to take myself around the world and just play music for people that would like to hear.

WHAT’S NEXT
We are so excited to see where you go from here! Looking into the next 3-5 years, what are some long-term goals that you have for yourself?
I’m looking forward to creating bigger bodies of work, like a full-length album. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but I’ve never got the privilege to do. It’s a process I’ve already started on, and I’m so excited to see where it takes me. And I can’t wait to take myself around the world and just play music for people that would like to hear. My fingers are itching.
On the other hand, what are some short-term goals that you hope to see manifest by the end of 2025?
By the end of 2025, I would love to have learned to share more of who I am and what I experience in this crazy life of mine. I’m slowly opening up and letting people view parts that I haven’t shown before. And that feels exciting.
Thanks again for joining us and chatting with us! Do you have any final words for our readers?
The pleasure is all mine! Stay classy and stream the heck out of my EP The Butterfly Affect.
LOVE//Boy In Space.
