One of the greatest women in the scene stopped by to play a show at the Echoplex in Los Angeles last weekend, and it was hands-down the best way we could’ve spent a Saturday night!
Taylor Acorn was once a country artist, but thanks to the global pandemic and the rise of TikTok, she quickly switched genres and became one of the biggest alt-pop punk singers of our generation. With the recent release of her sophomore album, Poster Child, she embarked on a North American tour to reach every single one of her established fans and more!
Taylor is no stranger to the tour life, having toured before with some of our other faves like The Summer Set and Grayscale, and also hitting international venues in 2024. To say that her stage presence is phenomenal would be an understatement. With powerhouse vocals, high-energy, and lyrics that really know how to strike a nerve (positively), how could anyone turn down a Taylor Acorn show?!
Speaking of her vocals and lyrics, Taylor Acorn graced our ears with some of the best songs she’s ever written as the opening numbers to her show: ‘Poster Child,’ ‘People Pleaser,’ and ‘I Think I’m In Love.’ Two of these songs come from her newest album, while the latter comes from her previous EP, Certified Depressant.
Following down the (set)list, Taylor included the majority of the songs from Poster Child, while also including some of her first hits like ‘Greener’ and ‘Coma.’
And for one night only, Taylor sang one of her feature songs, ‘Final Nail,’ which does in fact mean that MISS CHARLOTTE SANDS made a guest appearance at the show. TWO AMAZING WOMEN IN THE SCENE ON STAGE TOGETHER?! WE NEED MORE OF THAT!!!
And if you didn’t think Charlotte popping up for a surprise performance could stir up a bunch of emotion from the crowd, Taylor singing ‘Home Videos’ definitely did it! Expressing just how much this song meant to her and how it helped her grieve the passing of her father sent out a really powerful message.
