With each passing day, it seems the K-Pop industry is more and more interested in the Brazilian market and public, so it’s no surprise that we are back once more to talk about yet another connection that crosses the Pacific. This time, we’re talking about Riize’s performance at Lollapalooza. Or rather, performances, as we’ll be mentioning in a few moments.
Last year, the group was announced as part of the lineup for Lollapalooza São Paulo, with their show set for Saturday, March 21, at the Flying Fish Stage at 9:30 p.m., ending the night with a bang. And beyond that, fans will also have another chance to see Riize in São Paulo on a solo concert! As of last week, it was announced that the group will have their own Lolla side show at Terra SP on March 19, at 9:30 p.m.
And if you think Briize is the only one looking forward to this visit to Brazil, then think again! Riize members have been looking forward to these concerts for a while now, especially Anton, who never misses a chance to speak about his love for Brazilian culture. He even has “saudade” (a word in Portuguese without a direct translation, but that usually means “longing”) written on his mic!
Not only that, but Anton has also been known to appreciate Brazilian music and even recommend some songs during his life. One of the latest instances of this was when he mentioned ‘Palco,’ by Gilberto Gil, a Bossa Nova icon, and called it “surreal.” He has also sung ‘Águas de Março’ by Elis Regina during a recent live and shared a screenshot of his playlist featuring a few more Bossa Nova songs.
So, we think it’s safe to say both Riize and Briize are equally excited for their set at Lollapalooza São Paulo. We also can’t help but wonder what they’ll be up to while in the city. Maybe take a walk through Paulista Avenue or visit Beco do Batman to take some photos? We’re full of ideas, honestly.
Are you looking forward to Riize at Lollapalooza? What song do you think can’t be left out of the setlist? Let us know all your thoughts by finding us on Twitter, Facebook, and/or Instagram.
