The title track of About Love, ‘Love Comes Slowly,’ is the ultimate emotional reset. From the moment we heard the line, “You keep me safe and sound,” we knew it was over for us. The tears started immediately! The way their voices blend together so softly is pure magic.
We are absolutely living for the vocal range here; the softness and those crystal-clear high notes from everyone (including the rappers!) prove that SF9’s vocal game is on another level. The harmonies are breathtaking, especially when they sing, “I hope our love lasts forever.” We hope so too, boys! Here’s to many more years of SF9 and Fantasy staying together. 🧡
A Journey Through Heartbreak, Healing, & Hope
The rest of SF9’s About Love album is a masterful deep dive into the different stages of love. ‘Fade Into Memories’ starts with a delicate piano intro that feels like flipping through an old photo album. It’s a hauntingly beautiful plea to never be forgotten, and we promise we’re keeping you in our memories forever!
If you’re looking for something a bit more atmospheric, ‘You Think Too Much’ serves a more sensual beat and raspy vocals. With lyrics co-written by Youngbin and Hwiyoung, it feels like a gentle guidance through the dark. We’re also obsessed with the dreamy storytelling in ‘Last of Us,’ where Youngbin, Hwiyoung, and Chani helped craft a narrative that feels like a cinematic romance.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an SF9 album without some serious emotional damage. ‘Hurt & Hollow’ hit us deep from the very first note. 💔 Lyrics like “Every single night I’m breaking behind closed doors” perfectly capture that stifling feeling of heartbreak. But then ‘By Your Side’ comes in to pick up the pieces. It’s a stunning homage to the fans, and Inseong’s high notes in this one literally cut straight to the heart. We’re staying by your side, always!
Finally, we have to talk about ‘Broken Way.’ This is a total departure from the SF9 sound we’re used to, leaning into a raw, rock-inspired vibe. This is Yoo Taeyang’s song through and through—he wrote these lyrics from the bottom of his heart, and you can feel every ounce of emotion in his delivery.
