Here Are The Highlights Of Every Set At HallyuPopFest Day Two

Oh look, it’s another opportunity to talk about how K-Pop is truly taking over the whole world! This time, K-Pop took over London for the weekend, and THP were lucky enough to head down to day two! In all honesty, we’re still not over it and need to scream about it some more, so we’re talking about all of the highlights of HallyuPopFest right here!

HallyuPopFest brought seven of our favorite idols and artists to Wembley Arena, and we lost our minds throughout every set. One of the most special and unique aspects of the festival was the showcase, which took place in the afternoon. We got to see extra, extended shows from Paul Kim and Weeekly, before the show even really began!

With everything from some of K-Pop’s best choreo, to some super fun variety games, HallyuPopFest truly had it all. If you want to know all the details, you’re in the right place!

WEEEKLY

Girl group WEEEKLY kicked off day two of HallyuPopFest when they opened the showcase…is it too early to say that was one of our top highlights? Debuting in 2020, the girls haven’t had a lot of chances to perform their music in front of an audience, and they definitely made up for lost time. WEEEKLY were so good at warming the crowd up, and deserve an extra round of applause for how hard they went during the K-Pop bingo game, nailing the choreo of groups like ATEEZ and BTS.

Paul Kim

Closing the showcase and opening the main show was singer Paul Kim. If you love a ballad, you need to start stanning Paul, like yesterday. Throughout both shows, but especially during the games in the showcase, his crowd interactions were so lovely and sincere, and his charisma leapt off the stage. Our highlight of Paul’s set had to be the performance(s) of ‘Coffee With Me!’

CRAVITY

CRAVITY opened their show with ‘Adrenaline,’ and it lines up, because we’d describe their whole set as one huge adrenaline rush. Through performances of ‘VENI VIDI VICI,’ ‘MY TURN,’ and more, CRAVITY took the roof off Wembley Arena and had some of the most hype crowd moments of the whole night.

CIX

It has to be said: CIX have a ‘Movie Star’ aura. The five members of CIX glowed on stage, as they performed hits like ‘Cinema’ and ‘BAD DREAM.’ Of course, every idol on the stage gave us some incredible vocal performances, but we have to admit CIX’s Seunghun gave us some of our fave vocals of the whole festival.

Kep1er

Our fave girls Kep1er absolutely killed their first overseas performance! They opened with viral mega-hit ‘WA DA DA,’ and Wembley Arena erupted, as it should. With performances of bops like ‘See The Light (QD2. ver)’ and ‘Up!,’ we couldn’t be happier to be some of the Kep1ians that witnessed the girls’ first ever international show!

SF9

SF9 started their set with some brief technical difficulties and handled it like the complete pros they are. Every part of their performance was slick, controlled, and rife with charisma. They truly were the ‘Good Guy[s]’ and the London crowd ate up every minute of their set, as they should!

KAI

Look, many people have said KAI is one of the greatest K-Pop performers of all time, and they’re right to say it. KAI was beyond charming and the epitome of a professional, handling a wardrobe malfunction and outfit change midway through the set seamlessly (geddit?).

Our HallyuPopFest highlight from KAI’s set naturally has to be the ‘Vanilla’ dance break, but we also feel so blessed to have seen ‘Reason’ and ‘Hello Stranger’ performed IRL. The crowd were treated to an incredible set of three songs from KAI, and three songs from Peaches, and what more could we ask for really?

With a lineup this good, it’s easy to see how K-Pop is taking over the globe! If both London and South Korea are too far for you, maybe Sydney, Australia would suit? HallyuPopFest is headed there next, on 13th and 14th August. Some of the artists from the London shows will be there again, and some of the lineup is brand new for the Sydney festival, so we can guarantee plenty more HallyuPopFest highlights!

There are so many K-Pop lovers here at THP HQ, and we feel so lucky to have seen so many of our faves in Wembley this weekend. Were you at the shows? What were your highlights of HallyuPopFest? We wanna hear all your thoughts over on Twitter @TheHoneyPOP! If that’s not your vibe, you can also find us over on Facebook and Instagram!
