Lately, we’ve been on our A&R sh**. Discovering music’s best up-and-coming musicians is our favorite pastime, but more importantly, sharing the artists we discover with you all week after week. This week, we’re highlighting someone who has consistently been blowing us away with his vocals, stage presence, and practically perfect original songs. Let us introduce you to Sekou:

‘Dangerous Lover’
Male popstars are so back! Our favorite Sekou song, and also his most recent release, ‘Dangerous Lover,’ is setting Sekou up for major success this year. With a catchy hook that grabs any listener almost immediately, ‘Dangerous Lover’ is the male pop song we’ve been yearning for. Not to mention the visuals, the choreography, and the entire full pop fantasy is accompanied by the track as well. Sekou is certainly setting himself apart from his peers with just this track alone, and can’t wait to be along for the ride as his fans.
In the studio, I wasn’t chasing perfection, I was chasing honesty. Sometimes being an artist is about letting yourself unravel, saying the things you don’t say out loud, and this is one of those moments where I was grateful to make a song I loved out of it.

‘Catching Bodies’
This is the song you may know Sekou from the most. ‘Catching Bodies’ went viral on TikTok this year and for good reason. From the jump, we knew it was an absolute beast of a hit when we first listened to it. Honestly, it’s hard not to just be completely enraptured by Sekou’s vocal performance on this track. Over 10 million people and counting would agree with us, too (that’s the current stream count!). Thanks to this song, Sekou is now on Vevo’s 2026 Artists to Watch, and yes, we will be watching and listening very closely.
‘Time Will Tell’
A deep cut from Sekou’s discography, but a song we love the same nonetheless. ‘Time Will Tell’ takes us on a musical journey of so, so many emotions. This is a true testament of Sekou’s talent – he’s able to deliver us pop perfection in ‘Dangerous Lover’ and then can turn around and deliver an emotional song like ‘Time Will Tell’ all in the same discography of just a few years.

Now that we’re Sekou fans, we have to see him perform live! From Brooklyn, NY to San Francisco, CA, Sekou is hitting the road to perform all our favorite songs.
