“Swear I’m not trying to, can’t help but thinking ’bout you” are probably lyrics that you know and have heard before, but you may not know the singer behind the viral song, ‘Thinking ’bout You.’
Meet Stella Lefty, a 23-year-old country-pop singer-songwriter who is making a name for herself both online and on stage around the country. American Idol season 20 country singer Cameron Whitcomb tapped Lefty for his run of The Fragile Egos Tour this year, bringing her on the road to perform as the opening act. Cameron clearly saw potential in Stella’s music career, and we do too. We heard that Stella was coming to our city, and we knew we had to be present and accounted for on the barricade.

726 Miles From ‘Boston’
Performing on stage in Raleigh, North Carolina, Stella Lefty might have been 726 miles from Boston, but the crowd still knew every single word to her newest song, ‘Boston.’ She told the crowd she had only released this song two weeks ago and was in disbelief that the lyrics were being sung back to her. She twirled on stage with delight and the brightest smile, making us smile right back at her.
Stella connected with each person in the audience, making sure to make eye contact with fans on the barricade and the following first few rows. She created an intimate setting that felt like a small country bar, but in reality, it was a 1,000+ capacity venue that she had captured the full attention of. Her performance was truly even better than we could have dreamed, and we felt so connected to her the entire time.
The Setlist
No live show is complete without the perfect setlist. Stella brought us our favorite tracks, along with three unreleased songs and a cover! Here’s every song Stella performed:
- ‘You Were Mine’ (unreleased)
- ‘IKIK’ (unreleased)
- ‘Why Wouldn’t’ (unreleased)
- ‘Slow Dancin’
- ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun’ (cover)
- ‘Boston’
- ‘Kiss Me’
- ‘Thinking ’bout You’
Standout moments included Stella’s cover of Cyndi Lauper’s famous ‘Girls Just Want To Have Fun,’ which got the crowd involved and dancing, as well as her closing song, ‘Thinking ’bout You,’ that sent us off with all the positive vibes before Cameron Whitcomb took the stage. What started as a quiet crowd became a lively audience that hung on every word Stella sang.
Cameron Brings Stella Back!
Although we were sad to see Stella leave the stage after her final song, we knew Cameron Whitcomb had some surprises up his sleeve and might bring Stella back on stage after she hinted “I’ll be back!” before running backstage. At this point, we made our way to the upper balcony for a better view of Cameron’s performance. To say we were completely blown away by Cameron’s stage presence and adoration from his fans would be an understatement. The love and pure connection between the singer and his fans were apparent from the first song he started singing. The time we were waiting for came, and Cameron queued Stella to join him back onstage for an amazing cover of ‘All Your’n’ by Tyler Childers.
This was our favorite moment of the entire show and brought us so much joy to see both Cameron and Stella having the time of their lives singing together onstage! After this song, we knew we’d be Cameron Whitcomb and Stella Lefty fans for life.
