Perrie has decided to bless us one last time as she closes out her debut era, dropping new single ‘Passenger Princess.’ Fans will have originally heard the demo version of this on the Digital Fan Deluxe edition of Perrie, and we are so thrilled to have it as an actual single now! Embracing a rockier sound that the singer has previously shown interest in delving into more, ‘Passenger Princess’ is a playful yet emotional anthem that shows a vulnerable side of love, wanting to lean a little more on a partner, to take the weight off your shoulders.
Perrie’s voice blends so seamlessly with the heavier rock guitars and big drums that drive the track. It’s a sound that fans have been hoping for for a long time now, and even had a little taste of with the ‘You Go Your Way – Rock Version.’ Could rocker Perrie be making a permanent stay for her next era? Speaking about the new single, Perrie shares in a press release: “This song is written from a really honest place. Sometimes you just want someone to hold it together for you for a minute! It’s about letting yourself be looked and not feeling guilty about it. I’m really excited to embrace an even rockier sound in my music. I see all the feedback from my fans and I know this is what they want!”
The single releases ahead of Perrie’s performance at the iconic Mighty Hoopla festival in London this weekend, with more festival performances including at Isle of Wight Festival, TRNSMT Festival, and The Big Feastival. We are so hyped to see her perform her new single and other iconic songs live!
‘Passenger Princess’ closes out a successful era for Perrie as a solo artist. The self-titled debut album hit No.3 on the Official UK Albums Chart last year: a vibrant mix of rock-infused nostalgia, guitar-driven tracks, country touches, 80s vibes, and bold pop. It features the Top 10 UK single ‘Forget About Us,’ and has helped Perrie clock up an incredible 200 million streams to date.
