5 Seconds of Summer promised us a show—and they absolutely delivered. While the Australian band has always been known for putting on a spectacle, their stop in Anaheim still managed to exceed expectations.
For longtime fans, a 5SOS concert is about more than just the music. The band’s signature banter, running jokes, and personal stories have become just as much a part of the experience as the setlist itself. And Anaheim was no different! The night was also extra special, as June 27, 2026, marked the 12-year anniversary of the release of 5SOS’s self-titled debut album.
**SHOW AND SETLIST SPOILERS AHEAD**
From the very beginning, 5SOS pulled fans into the world of Everyone’s A Star!. Star-shaped confetti, massive screen visuals, and behind-the-scenes footage made the show feel even more immersive than previous tours. As the band took the stage, they immediately embodied the larger-than-life rockstar energy that their newest album radiates. Opening the night with ‘Not OK’ and ‘No. 1 Obsession‘ was the perfect way to kick things off.
While the tour wasn’t advertised as the band’s own version of an Eras Tour, the setlist made sure to celebrate every era of 5SOS. Fan favorites like ‘More,’ ‘Bad Omens,’ ‘Amnesia,’ and ‘Waste The Night’ were all included, giving longtime fans plenty of nostalgic moments alongside the newer material.
In Anaheim, the surprise song was especially fitting. In honor of the debut album’s anniversary, the band put four songs from the album up for a fan vote, with ‘Heartbreak Girl’ ultimately taking the win. It sent the entire audience into a frenzy while the band jokingly acted as though they weren’t having nearly as much fun performing it as the crowd was singing it back. (We’ll let you decide on whether they were kidding.) Surrounded by sequins, stars, and bright colors, fans fully embraced the celebration, making it a memorable tribute to where it all began!
The show wasn’t just about looking back at the band’s biggest moments, but also celebrated everything they’ve accomplished as individuals. During one of the storytelling segments, each member took the stage to perform a snippet from their solo work before jumping back into the story of 5SOS:

As impressive as the visuals and on-screen footage were, what really made the night stand out was the crowd. There wasn’t a single moment when the energy died down. Fans were on their feet all night, singing every word, and even during the pre-recorded videos, the excitement never let up.
To tie the entire show together, the boys started their encore while walking through the crowd like the hardcore rockstars they are. This part made the whole venue feel so connected to them, even if people were sitting way in the back. The way this entire show was produced and set up didn’t leave one person feeling unwelcome or like they were on that stage with the boys.
Twelve years after releasing their debut album, 5 Seconds of Summer continue to prove why they’ve maintained such a dedicated fanbase. More than anything, the Everyone’s A Star! Tour feels like a celebration of how far 5 Seconds of Summer have come. By honoring every era while embracing this new one, the Anaheim stop struck the perfect balance between nostalgia and excitement, reminding fans exactly why they keep coming back.
