Some concerts you could go without seeing. With today’s high ticket prices, limited city stops, and an even lower chance of even securing a ticket, enjoying live music is becoming harder and harder. But some shows are worth the battle. We attended indie rock band almost monday’s live show in San Francisco and, simply put, had the most fun night we’ve had in a long time. No pun intended, we have no regrets. We heard all their popular songs, connected with the new hits, and made friends during the unforgettable night. Here’s exactly what went down at almost monday’s THANK GOD IT’S ALMOST MONDAY Tour stop in foggy San Francisco.

Witnessing Rockstars Be Born
Curating an amazing live show is hard to do. With the amount of music that is being released today that all sounds the same, it’s hard to connect with certain sounds, let alone be truly moved by a live performance. That means it’s even harder to be the ones to put on an amazing live production. Dawson Daugherty, Luke Fabry, and Cole Clisby of almost monday reminded us that real music is so back, and true rockstars are still conquering stages all over.
The crowd defintely felt this new energy, too. In between songs, Dawson made the remark that the San Francisco show was their biggest headline show to date and that this crowd in particular was making him “speechless.” In the city’s historic Castro Theater, fans pulled up by the hundreds and the room was packed by 8 PM. OG fans lined the barricade with VIP merch and smiling faces – that’s the best feeling in the world! Rec Hall gave an amazing opening set, playing us their most popular songs, sharing their history as a band, and hyping us up for almost monday’s set. “You guys aren’t ready,” they prefaced. And boy, were they right about that.
The Setlist Didn’t “Slow Down!”
As the lights dimmed, Dawson and the rest of the band made their way onstage as a black curtain fell behind them, revealing a massive white curtain with the words “THANK GOD IT’S ALMOST MONDAY,” the name of the tour. We love a dramatic moment to open a show. They began their set with ‘delicate,’ followed by ‘class a’ and ‘no more regrets’ – banger after banger after banger! You can imagine how hype the crowd was with these opening songs, and surprisingly, the boys were able to keep this energy alive for the full 90 minutes. The night went by so fast; we were so sad when it ended! Now, we’re replaying all our favorite moments whilst streaming the setlist again and again.
Here’s the full setlist for the THANK GOD IT’S ALMOST MONDAY Tour. Please note that this setlist can change as the tour progresses.

As we said, the energy in the room was palpable. Even through the slower songs like ‘losing streak’ and ‘leaving is easy,’ the energy was still stirring from all corners of the venue, ready to explode again. For a quiet moment, a special fan project lit up the room, making the band emotional. Pink, purple, green, and yellow lights filled Castro Theater, bringing us back to the present moment – a moment that impacted us more than we thought it would. Quickly after, fans of all ages were jumping up and down to hits like ‘can’t slow down’ and ‘cough drops.’ We found ourselves knowing more lyrics than we thought we did and connecting with each song individually. What a special evening it turned out to be for all.
It’s Your Turn To ‘Enjoy The Ride!’
We truly haven’t felt this much PCD in a long time. Thank you almost monday for reminding us that the art of an amazing live show is not dead; in fact, the band is carrying it on their backs right now. If it wasn’t made clear enough, we highly, highly encourage all our concert-lovin’ honeybees to grab a ticket to the THANK GOD IT’S ALMOST MONDAY Tour – see if the band is coming to your city here! Even if you only know the hits or are not really familiar with them at all, it’s an experience you’ll want to cross off your list. There is nothing, and we mean nothing, better than a band that gets up onstage, commands the room with each song, and proves that they are the best in the game in just one evening.
It was intoxicating, and a true ‘class a’ experience we won’t forget.
