The day has finally come, Sam Fischer’s debut album is out! It’s been a long time coming, and we are just buzzing about it. I Love You, Please Don’t Hate Me has 14 amazing tracks that we know you’re going to love. If you haven’t already listened to the album, you can do so here. In the meantime, we picked our top 5 tracks to share with you!
‘This City’
We just had to list this one! ‘This City’ was originally released in 2018, and there’s a good chance your introduction to Sam was this song. It’s still as good, if not better, than it was in 2018. The vocals on this track are beautiful, and we can’t get enough. We’ll be hearing, “This city’s gonna break my heart. The city’s gonna love me, then leave me alone.” In our heads forever, and we’re more than ‘Alright’ with that!
‘You Don’t Call Me Anymore’
We ask that you grab some tissues before listening to this track; you’ll thank us later. This track is so heartbreaking in such a stunning way. Picking our favorite part of this track would be impossible, but we will say the lyrics, such as “Can’t even say there’s something to ignore, you just don’t call me anymore,” make this one of his best songs!
‘Iceberg’
If you like tracks with fun beats and sad lyrics, this is perfect for you! In this song, Sam explores the feelings of a mental struggle and feeling things can only get worse. This track was done so well, and we just love it from every angle. Lyrics like “I’m at the tip of the iceberg, I’ve heard nothing’s gonna slow it now. The only man on the island, I’ve been looking for a way to get out.” Makes this one memorable!
‘Hard To Love’
Still have your tissues from ‘You Don’t Call Me Anymore?” Good, you’ll need them. This track showcases Sam’s stunning vocals and lyrics once more. Backed by just a piano, he sings about knowing he can be hard to care for but also how he’s trying to be better.“I don’t wanna lеt you down like I have before. You’ve got your share of reasons not to love me anymore. I drink, but I still pray, I cry, but I’m okay ’cause you forgive me when I can’t forgive myself.” Sam Fischer, you have outdone yourself with these lyrics!
‘Watching My World Fall Apart’
This track focuses on those relationships that end with you slowly falling apart as it slowly ends. The first verse is spent reminiscing and comparing his partner to things that remind him of them. Sam sings, “I’d beg you not to leave if I really thought you’d stay here. Watching my world fall apart, you’re watching the making of a broken heart.” To his partner, basically saying they’re watching him break as they leave him. It’s an emotional track, and it’ll definitely put you in your feels.
We’re so excited that this album is finally out for streaming everywhere, and we hope you love it as much as we do! Let us know what you’re favorite track from I Love You, Please Don’t Hate Me is by tweeting us @TheHoneyPop or find us buzzing on Facebook and Instagram!
