Ayleen Valentine – ‘ask nicely’
Ayleen has found the perfect balance between indie rock, emo, and emotion in her music. ‘ask nicely’ talks about the different ideals and social constructs set for women in our modern world. When talking about the track, Ayleen said, “I started to notice that men aren’t as aware of other people’s emotions like women are, and that was frustrating to me in my relationship.” And honestly, we felt that one in our bones. Thankfully we don’t have to try to find the words to describe it anymore though, because Ayleen has captured the pain and frustration of it all perfectly in ‘ask nicely.’

Roe Kapara – ‘Glorious Day’
This one reminds us of the early 2000s emo music that we still blast to this day. The topic of the track matches that theme perfectly too. ‘Glorious Day’ is about a below-average person at best who decides to spend a day indulging themselves in anything and everything they please. Which, most of the things they please are not highly looked upon by their peers…like we said – it’s fitting! We can’t wait to see what else Roe has up his sleeve, because this is a new favorite of ours!

The Inside Out – ‘Mr. Arrogant’
The Inside Out showcases their indie rock music perfection on their newest track ‘Mr. Arrogant.’ The music reminds us of that early 2010s indie vibe that we never let go of, to begin with. ‘Mr. Arrogant’ is also the first single off their upcoming album Road Trip, which releases everywhere later this year!

IDLES – TANGK
IDLES are back and better than ever with their brand new album TANGK. Coming off their previous record, CRAWLER, which earned the band their first Grammy nominations. Saying that this album has been highly anticipated is truly the understatement of the century. The hype surrounding its release has been off the charts. One of the album’s releases, ‘GRACE,’ was even paired with a deepfake AI video that is meant to look like Coldplay’s video for their track ‘Yellow.’ Only in this case, Chris is singing ‘GRACE’ instead.

GVLLOW – TWIN FLAMES
GVLLOW is showcasing his evolution and growth with his new album TWIN FLAMES. Musically, it reminds us of Joy Division, The Cure, and Sonic Youth in the ways that scratch our brains in all the right places. You’ll be dancing, head bobbing, and putting this entire album on repeat. Trust us on this one!

Speaking of bands who remind us of a certain rock vibe to an extent, late night drive home’s new EP, i’ll remember you for the same feeling you gave me as i slept, is finally ours! late night drive home brings the perfect blend of 90s rock that we love like The Clash to life with their modern influences and elements. The band is even playing Coachella this year! Talk about living our dreams!

Mother Mother – Grief Chapter
We had a really good feeling about 2024, and part of it was because we knew there would be a new Mother Mother masterpiece waiting for us! And as usual, we were so right! Grief Chapter is an album that the band feels is their most dynamic one to date. Which means we’re about to shout “oh my god” even more than we initially thought as we listen!

flor – ‘Same Color As The Sun’
It’s not a secret that flor have found the recipe for Alt-Pop music perfection. ‘Same Color As The Sun’ is just another piece of proof to back that up! We can’t get enough of how the vocals in this track are so silky and entrancing. It’s as if they take your hand and bring you along for a sunshine walk. Coming off of a tour with our resident BFFs The Maine last year, on top of countless other achievements – we can’t wait to watch them make 2024 their year!
