School May Be Out, But Melanie Martinez Is Always In!

Alt Queen Melanie Martinez has dropped the follow up to her critically acclaimed album K-12. After School is an EP that shows us Martinez is no longer a Crybaby. Instead, she’s the coolest kid in the class.

After School consists of seven brand new tracks, and we’ve definitely been treated! It’s an EP that has solidified Martinez’s position at the forefront of musical innovation, not just in the alt-pop scene, but across the entire industry. From sickly sweet beats and vocals in ‘Test Me’ to the rhythmical melodies of ‘Glued,’ we’re spoilt for choice.

But the real jewel in the After School pencil case is ‘The Bakery.’ Produced by Blake Slatkin and accompanied by an equally engaging music video directed, and designed by Melanie herself, it’s a feast for the senses.

The music video? Full of vibes. The chorus? We can’t help but groove to it. In fact, it may just be our favorite Melanie Martinez track to date. Another one of our favourite things about Martinez is just how revolutionary she is with her music videos, and aesthetically, ‘The Bakery’ hits the spot.
