New Single: When is it out? Where can we stream it?
‘Nowhere Town’ is the newest indie-pop gem by Lauren Macfarlane is available to buy and stream everywhere on all the streaming platforms- YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify, etc.
Tell us a little about yourself!
I have been writing songs since I was 12 years old and started to seriously consider music as a career by the end of high school.
Who are your main musical influences?
My influences are kind of all over the place but in the past few years, I have been listening to a lot of Jade Bird, Phoebe Bridgers, The Chicks, HAIM, Maggie Rogers, Jason Isbell and Kacey Musgraves.
What’s one goal you have in life that may not be connected to your career as a musician?
It has always been a dream of mine to have a nice home somewhere in the country, with a wrap-around porch and a big garden out on the back.
What’s one piece of advice you’ve been given that you’d like to pass onto others?
Something I learned in a networking class back in college was “You don’t ask, you don’t get” and that has really stuck with me. It’s really important to put yourself out there and kind of advocate for yourself. Although it can be intimidating, it’s important to remember the worst thing someone could say to you is no.
Are you heading out on tour soon? Where can we buy tickets?
No tour plans as of yet but streamed live on Facebook from the Bullring in Guelph on May 20th. Pretty nice to watch!
What would you say is your biggest goal as an artist?
To headline my own tour! A European tour would be a DREAM.
What is your go-to comfort TV show?
Bobs Burgers! Hate to admit it, but I’m pretty sure I’ve watched the whole show front to back at least 8 times by now.
What’s your go-to Starbucks order?
I’m a biiiiiiig coffee girl. Wake up and start each morning with an entire french press of black coffee lol. I try my best not to spend money on expensive drinks, but if I feel like treating myself I will grab a Grande Ice coffee with almond milk, and if I REALLY want to treat myself, I add one pump of cinnamon dolce syrup.
