A Massive Night With The Hold Steady

An ode to Brooklyn: these were four massive nights with The Hold Steady at the Brooklyn Bowl.

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the album Boys and Girls in America, Brooklyn-based rock group The Hold Steady held a four-night residency in one of New York’s largest venues in early December.

To cap off a sold-out three-night streak, The Hold Steady played a slew of tracks off the hit album, including the well-known hit ‘Stuck Between Stations,’ which, like the other tracks played that night, the crowd knew word for word.

If you’re feeling the wave of classic, rooted rock music along the lines of Houndmouth, The Hold Steady is a group that, at its core, embodies that. With a fusion of blues and soul, infused in rock, their music is complex, ear-catching, and the kind of music that invites you to sing along.

If you’re looking for a place to start with The Hold Steady, we at THP definitely recommend starting with the hit also off of Boys and Girls in America, titled ‘Chips Ahoy!’ Check out the video, and make sure to thank us later! You’ll be glad you did.

Since we’re also on The Hold Steady wave here at THP, we’ve compiled a list of tracks we recommend checking out. Give a listen and share your thoughts!
