Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band Is Back At EXIT/IN

We at THP are still buzzing about our night seeing The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band in Nashville! Let us tell you, it was a big damn night and we had the best time.

Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band is made up of Reverend Peyton himself, his wife Breezy Peyton, and Max Senteney. Rev played a handful of guitars throughout the set, all from the 1900s. Other than playing guitar, Rev is also the lead vocalist and main songwriter. Breezy is known for playing the washboard while wearing gloves with thimbles attached to them. She also is known for setting the washboard on fire during their encore! Max plays the drums throughout the show until the end, where he brings out some percussion during the encore while Breezy plays the drums.

Sometime in the early 2000s, Rev had met Breezy and they wrote some songs together. They began playing at bars and blues festivals, as well as opening for bands in Indiana all the way to California. Rev and Breezy got married in 2003 and signed with the SideOneDummy record label in Los Angeles, which also signed Flogging Molly. No longer with this label, the Big Damn Band has released three albums over the past few years that have been in the top 5 Blues iTunes charts and on the Billboard 200. They have also constantly toured in the United States, Canada, and Europe while stopping at EXIT/IN in Nashville, TN.
