It’s been just a few months since we lost the incredibly talented Tom Parker, who rose to fame as one of five members of The Wanted. He stole fans’ hearts worldwide with his incredible vocals and warm personality, and after his battle with brain cancer, he’s still making such an impact on TW listeners everywhere.
Tom really shone on songs like the band’s 2012 track ‘Gold Forever,’ a sweet love song about holding on to your significant other through tough times and the struggles you may face. With an electropop chorus, it’s a dance floor anthem that never fails to get us on our feet. But now, it’s taking on a new meaning.
After Tom’s passing, his family asked his bandmates in The Wanted to perform ‘Gold Forever’ at his memorial, so the group reimagined the song in a more tender light with a piano-driven instrumental. They performed the song as promised and shared the new rendition with fans alongside an emotional compilation video of some of their favorite memories with Tom.
We love that The Wanted are carrying on Tom’s legacy and will forever hold him close to their hearts. For the first year after the release of ‘Gold Forever (For Tom),’ all net proceeds from the song will go to The Brain Tumour Charity, a British organization dedicated to studying brain cancer and helping those facing it.
