It’s no secret that we at the Honey POP love Young Culture. They’ve been taking over the pop-punk scene. They spent all of last year touring, including going on their first-ever headlining tour. They also released one of our favorite albums of 2022, You Just Had to Be There, which we reviewed here. If you’re unfamiliar with Young Culture, here are 4 songs to get you to love them as much as we do.
‘Party Girl’
In case you’ve ever wondered about where the PARTY GIRL [insert name] Twitter display names came from, this is it. Even though it’s one of their oldest songs, fans old and new know this song and you should too. It’s simple but catchy. Add this to your playlist to release the inner party girl in us all. “Cause you’re a party girl, baby!”
‘Better Off As Friends‘
If you’ve ever heard them be called the “One year, two months,” band, this is the song behind it. From their self-titled album released in 2020, this is a bittersweet breakup song that many of us can relate to. Even though lyrically, it’s a sad song, it’s still upbeat enough to where it doesn’t just have to stay in a breakup playlist.
‘Good Karma‘
We’ve talked about how much we love this song before, but it bears repeating. This song is an absolute banger. It has an early 2000s pop-punk vibe, which we can always appreciate. If we were still in the MySpace days, we would definitely have this song on our profile.
‘Whiskey‘
In case you’re not a huge fan of pop-punk, there’s a good chance you’ll love this song. And even if you are, there’s a good chance you’ll still love this song. It has strong country vibes, while still being unmistakably Young Culture. But you can bet we’ll still be finger-pointing and crowdsurfing to this one.
